Not as soft as many but not bad. Good cushy foot.

- Made in El Salvador - 48 cotton, 40 polyester, 10 rayon, 1 spandex, 1 nylon - Do not use fabric softeners. Machine wash cold, non-chlorine bleach if need. Tumble medium. Do not iron - Construction looks good These are thicker socks but not winter-in-Canada thick. They work good in boots. The fabric is a pretty weird mix. To the touch, it almost feels like there's some wool in there. Not really itchy or rough, but not really soft, either. The uppers feel softer. The hubs says he doesn't notice any roughness when wearing. The 6-12 size range seems rather huge to me. My husband is a 10 and he fits but we both wonder if a 12 could really fit. Guess you have to try. Good toe seam, no rubbing. Toe & heel are reinforced. He says they work great with his work boots (non steel toe), cushy foot, thinner upper. I don't know what to say about this "freshiq" stuff. He says they don't make him sweaty so I guess it's fine. I would have liked more info on it. Not comfortable

When I ordered this product I thought that I can use them frequently for work, but unfortunately it was not what I expected. To begin with, they are not soft. Do not expect them to feel comfortable after working for whole shift, they are doing a great job absorbing the sweat, but other than that they are not comfortable. Secondly, the fabric will not stay the same after several washes which is disappointing, I expected more but I can tell they will not gonna last more than 6 months. In general, I was not impressed by the socks, they are not soft and not durable. But for the price tag you will get what you paid for.

Comfortable sock that looks small but stretches well.

Nice all around sock that fits my size 10.5 foot well, as well as son's size 8.5 foot. The socks look small when you first receive them, but they have plenty of stretch to fit a range of shoe sizes. I don't think they'd be comfortable if you're a size 12, but up to my size 10.5 they fit quite comfortably without bunching up. They stay in place, but the top part and around the foot, and feet stay reasonably cool in 85 degree weather. The socks stay up, and the level of cushion is comfortable for all day wear with sneakers, running shoes and regular shoes. I don't think I'd wear them for actual running as I find them too thick for that, and crew socks are the wrong length for running anyway. For daily wear with jeans they're great. They are what I would consider a medium weight sock, not thin like something from Swiftwick. The socks look and feel just fine after their first wash. I don't know how they'll do in the dryer since I hang dry socks for longevity (the heat tends to eventually damage the elastic). Good value for an all around black sock, but please don't go wearing them with shorts and Birkenstocks.

Suprisingly Breathable

I've worn a competing brand of black dress socks with a gold toe design for years. I tried these just to see the difference and because they came in a 12 pack. The competing brand is more of a nylon type blend and wears well as a dress sock. When I first opened the package of Hanes crew socks, I thought they felt thick like traditional white basketball crew socks. But after I got them out of the package, felt them & tried them on, I was surprised that they were thick crew socks, they just felt like they were. They feel soft without being thick. Still concerned that they might be thicker or have a higher cotton content than the gold toe design sock I have been wearing, I was surprised when my feet did not sweat more than the competing brand. In fact, I think they have sweat less. All in all, I like these socks. They don't look quite as dressy as the competitor, but its not like people are looking that close at your socks. They are made of 48% Cotton, 40% Polyester, 10% Rayon, 1% Nylon & 1% Spandex.

A nice fit, wash and dry well, I'd like even more comfort, though!

These are pretty good socks. They fit well, even with my son who has quite big feet. They are cool feeling in the summer---the fabric is a good blend of materials, with enough cotton to keep them cool and a touch of spandex so they stay up! They wash and dry nicely, which is a big deal for me with socks---socks get washed so much that I really like easy care socks that come out of the dryer just as nice as they went in. The toes really are well made as advertised. I find so many socks can't stand up to toenails, but these do! I do think they could be a big more cushioned. They ARE cushioned, but I would call the cushioning light. These aren't expensive, but not super cheap either, and I would have liked a little more foot bottom protection. Overall, however, these are quite nice socks.

Good value

These socks are a nice pack of 12 for less than 20. I like the balance of cotton and polyester, they stay soft and don't get stiff when washing. The seams are nice and comfy and don't rub or chafe. My husband likes them a lot with his boots, they wick moisture and sweat better than socks with a higher polyester content. I don't know that they'll be suitable for really cold temps, but for summer they do the trick. The low price means less heartburn when they start disappearing in the washing machine.

Black Crew Socks

At the time of this review, the listing does not yet have a picture. So I was surprised when I received 12 pairs of black crew socks. I don't know why I assumed they were regular white socks. The socks are well made, high quality socks, as is typical for the Hanes brand. There might be better socks, but I have always bought Hanes when I wanted to be sure I was getting something decent. Unfortunately, I can't wear black socks with shorts because I'm not 80 years old yet, but I'm saving these for that day.
