Better than expected
I never write reviews however, I always read them before I buy anything. Hoping this one will be helpful for someone. I purchased these for a wedding dinner to help save the linens. I was nervous because the product picture isn’t good and I really wanted them to be white and not a newspaper white. They arrived in a box inside another box which was nice. The top three were wrinkled somehow but there is 1000 so not a big deal. They are a white white with petty embossing. Thicker then expected with a little plastic coating to help with spilled fluids. Very impressed and would buy again.

we use them as placemats under the cat bowls
we use them as placemats under the cat bowls. they are very thin paper but work great for how we use them. We put them on top of the fabric placemats under the cat bowls. Both of our cats are very messy eaters. This way we simply throw them away instead of having to get all the dried bits of canned and dry food off of the fabric mats. we leave the fabric mats under the paper as the floor is concrete and this way the spoiled cats have a soft mat to step on while they eat out of their fiesta ware fruit bowls in colors of the seasons

You Will Love Them!!!
Now that I've had them for a minute, now I can write a review. First of all I had to remember to use them. I have a family day care and after every meal the table would be greasy or just plain messy cause that's what kid's do. And so we could work on the table I was constantly moving everything after meals so I could wipe the table. Well, since I remember to use these at every meal it cuts down on me having to do another task constantly. At most from the food being warm I might get some condensation on the table. That's not a problem. And sometimes the kids eat clean and I can use the mat for another meal. These mats are made of paper. I remember when I was reading the description before purchasing it did not give a clear answer as to whether they were paper or plastic. So I contacted customer service before purchasing and got an answer that they were in fact made of paper. And one day the mat was on the table as we were doing arts and crafts and I laid the craft on it to show the children and we wound up using the mat as a background for our craft that day. Laying the different colors against the vividly white mat really made the craft stand out. I've even found uses for the mats in my kitchen. They really help to keep areas clean or if I want something to air dry I use the paper mat. I will continue to buy these from here on out and the quantity is awesome for what they cost. I really get a lot of use out these paper mats.

Don’t know why I waited all this time!
I just received my box. It is well packaged in a box without inner lining of any sort, sent in another Amazon box. I was gonna count if it is exactly 1000 but have decided not to. I was worried it maybe too thin, but to my surprise it is not so thin at all. I don’t know why I waited this long to purchase this. This should save me a lot of stress having to wash placemats each and every time! And hope to surprise my kids tonight at dinner. Looks quite elegant, but not as much details as seen on the picture

The mats are exactly what I wanted. They are nicely embossed and heavy enough to withstand light fluids and wet or greasy food particles from leaking through. Kids can use crayons, and marker drawing won’t bleed through. They’re a perfect fit for my tea trays. My only complaint was they way they were not prepared for shipping. A thousand mats are pretty heavy and the manufacturer had them packed in a fairly sturdy box. The problem was the box was dropped on the corners multiple times during the shipping process and the corners weren’t strong enough to prevent some splitting of the box, resulting in damage to the mat corners. This isn’t a big enough issue for me because no one will see them but me. If you want to use them for a function or as placemats for guests, the crushed corners will be unsightly. Which is a shame because the price is so reasonable and they are nice. I am 71 and don’t have the strength in my hands to be able to lift the box and get it reinforced and double boxed well enough to return to Amazon. I will use an iron to press down the corners and they will be fine for my use, and I am happy to have them. Had I needed them for a formal function, I wouldn’t be so forgiving. These need to be double boxed with packing inserted at the corners.

Perfect disposable placemat for messy pets
I've been using these on a daily basis for about three years because they're convenient, inexpensive and they do the job. I have four cats that can be a little messy while eating their wet food each morning and evening. Since I began using these placemats under their bowls I no longer have to search for errant bits of food that they pushed out of their bowls or wipe down the hardwood floors after every meal. I just pick up their bowls and toss the placemats, which saves me time and work. I've also used them as a tray liner when serving brownies or cookies, and a few times for eating leftover crabs when I ran out of newspaper.
