Great fan that won't light up your room

I'm happy with the fan itself. It's whisper quiet and it looks nice while moving plenty of air. I've had cheaper fans that rattled slightly in the past, so a fan that moves air while being completely silent is a 5 star fan in itself. I question the design of the light kit on this fan, though. Why, why, WHY does Casablanca only put two light outlets in it? There's room for 4 light sprockets underneath the glass dome - why do they only provide two sprockets? Even three would be better. I specifically asked in the question section on here if this unit was bright enough because I feared it wouldn't be. Guess what? It isn't. My room isn't very large - I'm estimating 12x12, but there's basically a queen-sized bed in here with two dressers, and the room is pretty much full. This fan lights it up, but it's not bright and I find it to be a minor eye strain for me. You know when a light-bulb burns out in your light fixture, and the room goes from being bright to feeling like it's sundown? That's about the brightness of this kit. It desperately needs 1 more light sprocket in it, but it could fit two! I even replaced the two bulbs that came in the kit with brighter bulbs and it made a very marginal difference. Even just looking at my ceiling right now with the lights on, I can see the ceiling where the lights are positioned at is fully lit, but there are shadows in the two other corners of the ceiling where there are no bulbs. Why would you design a fan that unevenly lit a room? Dang you, Casablanca, for making a great fan that is marred by its sub-par lighting abilities.

A TRULY BEAUTIFUL FAN/LIGHT

I wanted to put fans up in my great-room type living area, and I wanted them to be of the wall hugger design. I found NOTHING I liked in the two major home improvement chains, so I opened up my computer and shopped Amazon! Almost immediately I found what I was looking for! These are large fans, but they are in a large living area. Even at the slowest setting, they do a wonderous job of moving the air and providing a nice comfortable environment on even a warm day, so I'm thinking there will be less dependence on the a/c. The "tea-stain" globe diffuses the light nicely (please understand the fans emit plenty of light) just without glare. Also, these fans are very quiet, except that the blades are moving, you would not know they are even on. I opted for pull cords, everyone is the house is tall, so this is not an issue. In the downstairs "man-cave" we put in wall huggers that are remote control operated (also beautiful fans) that are remote control operated. Well, the remote was always missing, so eventually we mounted the holder to the wall above the on/off electrical switch, and all is well, as long as the remote is replaced in the mount! Finally the price....OMG what a buy! Looking at them, I'd have easily paid $300.00 each, but got them BOTH under that amount, and they were eligible for PRIME too.

This is a great fan

There are many things I like about this fan. The first is that it arrived less than 48 hours after I placed the order. It was well packed so everything arrived undamaged as well. Installation was quite straightforward, although this is the 6th fan that we have installed and this one was replacing another fan. This unit is exactly as advertised, a ceiling hugger so it does not hang down too far. The fan moves an impressive amount of air, enough to handle our large family that lacks cross ventilation. The light fixture supplies enough light for most purposes without any of the annoying glare that the downward facing individual lights of our previous fixture did. As for the style, this is a simple classic design. The dark oiled bronze and dark fan blades do not compete with the other surfaces on our contemporary, light grey room. I would not hesitate to place this fan with almost any sort of decor.

Does NOT come with a light kit

The fan itself is great, quiet and powerful. But despite what many of the reviews state, the unit received did not come with a light kit. Worse, finding a compatible kit has turned out to be remarkably difficult. Amazon does not sell any. If you need a fan with a light, be 100% sure that what is being sold has it. This one does not.

Huge for our room, fast, wooshy and perfect (Hint for those complaining of clicking)

I love this new fan. It's fast, noiseless but has that lovely woosh that I enjoy. It cools the room without a secondary source. It is fairly easy to install and someone can do it alone. Be sure the wires are tucked into the housing because when we first installed it, a wire was sticking out just a tad and the spinner caught it and it clicked as it ran. I see most 1 star is the clicking. It really is THAT EASY of an issue. We tucked all the wires in and now it's noiseless.

Works great.

I bought this fan because it had the fan speed controls in the fan (pull chain) instead of a wall switch. I had previously purchased a fan that had the speed control which replaced the wall switch and because of the 4 way circuit on the light and the way it was wired I could not get the fan and the light to both work. This fan installed easily and everything works fine. I gave it a 4 star rating instead of 5 star because I like the styling better on the Emerson fan I had previously purchased. The upside to this fan is that it was $60 dollars cheaper than the Emerson fan.

Quiet is the key word

Replaced the 20+ year old Hunter fan in our master bedroom that had become very noisy & was disruptive to sleep. My husband is handy & installed it himself. Took approx 2 hours, had to use different brackets than were used with the prior fan. He rated it as a '2' in difficulty. The fan is so quiet I thought it was shut off by mistake when I woke up during the night. Looks great, good quality. Very happy with the purchase!

I purchased the 54 inch fan after purchasing the 44 inch fan for some other rooms. Needed the larger fan due to the bigger room size. The only thing that stops me from giving this 4 stars is that the lighting kit on the 54 inch is different than what is on the 44 inch. I prefer the lighting kit on the 44 inch fan because it provides more light to the room. Too bad Casablanca doesn't offer the fan with choice of lighting kits so that the consumer can customize the look. I would be willing to pay more for that option, if offer.
