Generally easy to install. The blades attach without tools. They are press-fit. However some of them were very tight and took a serious amount of squeezing to get them installed. The light kit has 3 screws. Two of them are easy, one difficult. Nice fan. Lights work well with my slider dimmer switch. The reversing switch is the worst feature. You'll probably need a ladder to find and change the switch partially underneath the light dome. TIP: if you have separate wall switches, there is probably no need to attach the chain for the light. Why would you fool with the chain when the light is controlled from the wall switch? For the fan, you need the chain to set the speed.

Great fan, but weird "GU24" light bulb sockets
The fan seems to be well made, looks nice and is silent. As some one else mentioned, it is not flush mountable; using the shortest pipe, the blades are 11 inches from the ceiling at the lowest point, and the lowest part of the light is 18 inches below the ceiling. The main problem I experienced (as another reviewer mentioned but I failed to notice) was that the light is uses the new GU24 base (two pegs instead of the normal screw socket). This is required to get the energy star rating, and to prevent incandescent bulbs from being installed. Unfortunately the GU24 bulbs seem to be about twice the price of normal socket bulbs and are available in less varieties. I installed a remote control with a dimmer and intended to use incandescent bulbs. There are GU24 adapters available, but they will add some extra length to an already tight space. I ended up going to the hardware store and buying the parts to rewire the light with normal sockets. This was easy and straight forward to do. I put in 100 watt bulbs and it worked great for about 10 minutes and then shut off because the lamp base has a thermal switch inside that shuts off if it gets too warm. The bulbs are well below the fan and there was no danger of fire, so I had considered removing the thermal switch; instead, I ordered two soft white dimmable LED bulbs. They turned out to be just a little too long for the lamp cover to be installed, but I was able to bend the socket mounts in slightly and it worked fine. The other issue was that the "easy install blades" are not that easy to install, I had to push really hard to get them to slip on and I was afraid I was going to break one. I turned out fine, but be aware it will take some effort to get them snapped on. I suppose if you've done it before, and the other light is already removed and you have unpacked the fan and you already have a fan rated ceiling box, it's theoretically possible to install in five minutes if nothing goes wrong; but realistically the "installs in 5 minutes or less" is a joke, it's just going to take longer than that. Over all I'm still satisfied with the purchase. I just wish the description made it clear that it does not have normal bulb sockets. Pros: Looks good Silent Cons: can't use normal light bulbs Install hint: Be careful when installing the screws that hold the ceiling cover in place, they will fall inside the fan motor if you drop one, and you will have to unhook the wiring, pull the fan down and shake it upside down to get it out. After doing that once, I covered the fan motor in aluminum foil until I was done.

Quiet, a worthy fan
I bought "Hunter Pro's Best Indoor Ceiling Fan with LED Light and Pull Chain Control, 52", White". • Bottom line: I recommend the fan. • I am amazed at how quiet the fan is. • My model did not have a remote control (because I figure that's just one more thing that could go wrong in the future). • Since my electrician installed it, I cannot rate the ease of installation, however, he had no problems. • I had my fingers crossed that it wasn't damaged during delivery, but it arrived in great condition with nothing broken. • I only awarded 4 stars for two reasons: >>First, because there is no way to vary the amount of light (you get all or none). I didn't see any fans that had that feature. If I had, I would have been willing to pay extra. My jerry-rig solution is to remove one bulb to dim it. If I need more light at some future date, I can always insert the extra bulb. >>Second, the edges of the fan blades are brown which I find annoying since my ceiling is white. I will jerry-rig by painting the edges with a white paint-pen.

Nice looking fan, no vibration, took 2 hours to install
Five minutes, MY FOOT! Don't get me wrong, I love this fan and I love the remote my husband so kindly installed with it, but holy moley was it a pain to put up. I am so glad I read other reviews on this fan before I ordered it. We set aside an entire afternoon to pull out the icky, shiny brass "boob" light that came with the house and replace it with this lovely bronze fan. To start, it was nearly impossible to stuff the remote receiver in the canopy, but my engineer-extraordinaire DH somehow managed it (with a lot of cursing and glaring in my direction). After 40 minutes of that business, we had to crawl up into the 1000 degree attic to screw in some 2X4 reinforcements for the existing housing, which was only secured on one side to a beam. If you find yourself in a similar situation, PLEASE be sure to add structural reinforcements at the time you install the fan so your housing (and, consequently, ceiling fan fixture) doesn't sag post-installation. We put up another fan without aforementioned reinforcement in my daughter's room and it is WAY off balance (one side has a 1/2" gap between the top of the canopy trim and ceiling) and it generally looks like the thing is going to fall onto the foot of her bed at any moment. Are we concerned about her physical and mental well-being? Absolutely... but not enough to deal with the blown-in insulation, heat, humidity, and aggravation of disassembling (only to have the pleasure of re-installing) another "5 minute" fan to manufacturer specs. Pros: Fan, if installed correctly, is quiet, provides a decent amount of light for a small room, energy efficient, and looks beautiful. Cons: Weighs a lot, requires at least 20 minutes of assembly (which is not intuitive) and at least 2 people to install, not enough room to tuck in remote receiver (it would be nice if it came with one, but oh well). 5 stars for appearance and quiet operation; deduct 1 star for pain-in-the-rear installation.
