Ready for summer temps
Works well, no batteries required and if you drop it by accident it’s shatter resistant!! Display is big and easy to read BUT unfortunately it’s hard to read at night. Well made and it has not faded from the sun

Good thermometer screen starting to get moisture in it.
Hoping screen clears up

Just started with digital
Much easier to read than glass tube mercury thermometers. Still too cold to swim yet.

Doesn’t stay on!
I do wish someone would invent a pool thermometer that looks like a meat temperature probe that floats on the water, with a pointer on a curved scale. Having a regular mercury thermometer on a floaty means you have to pull it out of the water to read it. I want to just walk by the pool and know it’s temperature. We have a rf link digital pool thermometer but I thought it was playing up. I bought this because it’s the right price, to confirm my other one was ok. But I found it to be close to useless. In bright sun it displays nothing. You have to press the reset button before anything is displayed. And then tilt your head carefully to read a temperature and not just 188.8. I don’t know why it just doesn’t stay on all the while the sun shines on it. And of course the next morning it is just blank again. So I still have to reach in to the pool and remove the thermometer so I can read it. What a poorly thought out product…..

Inaccurate
The item that arrived doesnt look anything like the one pictured in the product listing. The one I received is solar powered with a small row of solar cells above the temperature window display. That is all good and well but it is going to be used in a spa and of course it will be covered and dark underneath the spa cover nearly all of the time. So when is it going to get recharged? Obviously I will have to take it out periodically and set it in the sun. Not and ideal situation. OK for a pool in the sun but not so good for a covered spa. But my main complaint with this thermometer is its inaccuracy. My old mercury thermometer, which I assume is quite accurate, but hard to read, says the temperature is 100 degrees. The digital one says 102 degrees. Quite a difference. So now I have to assume that when it says 102 it really means 100, etc. And the difference in two full degrees is quite noticeable in a spa. 100 is just nicely warm. 102 is relatively hot. 103 and you start to sweat. The other minor annoyance is that it doesnt read continuously. You have to press a button on the top before it shows the temp. A battery saver no doubt. But still annoying. And lastly, this item is made of pretty cheap materials. I guess they not only scrimped on the digital temp sensor but also on the plastic body. Probably skimped on the solar cells and the little battery inside too. All in all I wouldnt recommend this product. You definitely get what you pay for. A cheap price but a cheaply made and inaccurate thermometer.

Doesn’t stay on
This gauge is okay for the price but the downside is the reading doesn’t stay on. So you can’t just read it immediately. Have to pull it out of the water, turn it on and then put it back in and wait for it to read the temp. Since it’s solar I’m not sure when it doesn’t just continuously read as long as it has power! You also cannot read it while it’s in the water - the display is too small and sun glare makes it hard as the display is not very bright.

Slow
Responds very slowly takes minutes to settle on a steady temperature.

Does a great job in an unintended use.
I am not using the thermometer in a pool. It is currently bobbing happily in a very large Canadian river. We have it anchored to a concrete block in 4 feet of water. To say it is tough and reliable is an understatement. It has handled everything from large waves to high winds, ships wakes, and the sun beating on it. Because of the chill of the water, (50F degrees when put in, 65F now.) it is a necessity.

Needs to have button pressed every time you view it.
It works, but one thing I didn't know before I bought it was that it automatically shuts off after a couple of minutes. I figured that, being solar, it would stay on as long as it was sunny. Nope. Shuts off and stays blank until you press the "on" button again. It works fine, but I wish I could just walk by the pool and look to see what the temperature is, without getting down on my hands and knees and pressing the darn button.

Wait for accuracy
Although the thermometer is solar-powered, the temperature display is normally off, requiring you to press the poorly-named Reset button to see the temperature. The temperature initially displayed is rarely accurate, so you have to wait -- sometimes a couple of minutes -- while it samples before you know the actual temperature. I replaced this thermometer with an inexpensive analogue one that always shows the correct temperature with no need for button pressing.

Fonctionne très bien
Fonctionne très bien; affiche en C ou en F. Je n'ai pas mis 5 étoiles uniquement parce qu'il se retrouve parfois à l'horizontal; il manque de poids pour rester à la verticale dans l'eau.
