Decent vacuum especially for the price
I like the suction, maneuverability, that it is lightweight, and how well the pet hair attachment picks up. I do not like how easily the attachments come apart while using (limits reach, and annoying to have keep putting back together) and hose pops off vacuum (sometimes it pops off and I’ll be vacuuming floor not realizing it’s not going into tank!), that the air outlet aims in such a way if you bend over to pick something up in front of the vacuum it blows directly into your face, and you cannot use some attachments without the other as a base. Overall it is worth the money though. I had looked and compared quite and bit and am content with the purchase.

MY APARTMENT IS CLEEAAAAANNN!!!
I have been needing a new vacuum for AGES now, my old one only really worked with the handheld suction tube as the main roller head was not working as well as it used to, so this was a long time coming. I saved up and searched around and got this baby b/c of the petmate attachments. I'd just adopted some kitties back in January so my living room, kitchen rugs, and bedrooms were a fuzzy mess from the cats and no proper vacuum to clean up after them. Needless to say I was excited to get this one. I wasted zero time when it arrived to get it out and get cleaning. Putting it together is super easy and intuitive. It's lightweight and swivels nicely as well. Not overly so either like some vacuums that jacknife themselves, this one swivels and allows you to still manage control of it. It has 3 settings on the power button, OFF, No spin on the roller brush and then the roller brush spin setting. So it's easy when you need to go over tiles or hard flooring to turn off the roller brush and flick it back on when you're over carpet again. This vacuum is very powerful for how lightweight it is compared to my other bagless that its replacing. I ended up emptying it halfway through my vacuuming adventure just in case, but the container probably could've stood to be filled a bit further from the point where I emptied it. So I ended up emptying it twice with the container about 75% full of dust and fluff and fur each time. As you can see by the picture that's just from the second emptying, the first is a ball bigger than that below it. My hallway rug changed colors from dulled colors to bright and clean once this thing got to it lol. It got out dirt I didn't realize was still stuck to it! This thing handled all debris like a champ. Fur, loose litter, crumbled paper, a few stray feathers from my pillows, and the different thicknesses of the carpet, and the rugs in my kitchen and hallway. The entire time I was vacuuming I kept laughing and joking to myself that I felt like I was in a friggin TV commercial with how amazed I was at how well this thing was performing and each new feature I discovered with it. LOL. The kitchen rug pictured is a thick almost shag-like rug and the vacuum has a suction power slider that I could have probably used so it didn't have as strong of a suction on that rug as it did, even with the higher power suction it still handled that rug like a champ. It didn't snag or eat the rug at all and got it more clean than I've seen it in years. It was able to travel over and clean any surface in my apartment, linoleum, carpet, thick shag rug, even my yoga mat it breezed over with the brush without scratching it up. Needless to say, I'm super super pleased with this vacuum, holy cow. The only slight issue I had was the petmate attachment that has the little roller; when I was using it on a pillow and the couch cushions I noticed if I pressed down with it, the pressure from the pillows stopped the roller from moving as it seems to be powered by the suction power of the vacuum itself. I'm not sure if I am supposed to vacuum with it in a certain manner to avoid this issue or if it's intentional. The plus side is it means nothing can get damaged and jam it up if it gets pulled in since the roller stops with any solid pressure, I was able to stop it with my hand even without injury. I need to fiddle with that attachment a little more I think to get the hang of it. But the vacuum came with a dual brush attachment as well and one side is a red felt-like bristly brush kind of side and that worked equally as good at getting the fur off the corduroy of the pillows. The handle part of the vacuum detaches from the body to provide you with a spot to hook the attachments to, or you can detach the whole arm wand if you need further reach as well. It's super easy to clean as well as most bagless canister type vacuums are. The thing disassembles so easily with a few button presses that you can reach all the parts without having to tip the whole vacuum over to maintain it. The cannister comes away from the main body, has a flap at the bottom to empty it into the trash and then another button at the top that lets you open the top side of the cannister to pull out the center tube thing and shake off any gathered hair or dust in there as well. The center tube twists to lock into place so be careful you don't yank on it without unlocking it first. You can see the little lock diagram on the inside of it to guide you. It also has a filter at the bottom of where the cannister sits on the body of the vacuum that you can take out to clean and wash. The arm wand that detaches is a comfortable length so I'm not stooping over to reach with it. My only wish is that the main floor roller had a plate that came loose so I can pull the whole roller out for easier cleaning, but unless I unscrew the ENTIRE faceplate, which I don't want to do, I was left with snipping any coiled hair or fuzz from the roller while it was still attached. It wasn't difficult to do as I can detach the vacuum head from the body, but it would be nice to be able to take the roller out in case I want to wash it or something. All in all I am super pleased with the results this vacuum has had on my very dirty apartment, and I couldn't be happier. I definitely recommend getting this vacuum if you're hesitating, it's well worth the money.

Unbelievable suction especially with pet hair
A bit heavy otherwise 5 stars, suction is stronger than any vacuum I’ve owned including top named brands. My dog sheds so much, amazing how it literally glides across carpets!! Love this Kenmore!!

Work well
I purchased this to replace a Shark with a burned out motor (after 5 years). This was a recommended model in Consumer Reports and it was their least expensive tested model. The suction is great. Very powerful rotating brush that pulls the vacuum forward (not always a great thing). The head swivels nicely, but it can be unwieldy at times. Very easy to remove the canister when you need to empty it. The hose is heavy and has a high quality feel to it, but the collets that connect it on either end are flimsy, so I'm hoping that they hold up. For the money (I paid $130 new), this is a very good deal.

Great Vacuum - Just What I wanted!
I bought this vacuum to replace a 10 yr old Dyson (ball) that was just getting too heavy for me and was acting up. Rather than put money into repairs, I purchased this Kenmore (a well known name to me). I read sooooo many reviews from various top selling vacuums before deciding on this particular vacuum, but I'm glad I did! I've used it every other day for a week now and I will try to list my "Pro's" and "Con's" for you. BTW, I am 5'3", 68 years young and active. I do have a "con" when it is in the carpet mode, as it takes a bit of strength to pull it back when in use. Going forward is a breeze, but pulling it back requires some muscle and by the time I vacuumed my LR, hall and 3 BR's of carpet, my shoulder was getting sore. Of course, it could be the nap of my carpet and not the fault of the vacuum. For "Pro's": I love the ease of the swivel, the ease of switching from hard floors to carpet, the suction, the headlights (but they only work in the carpet mode so that's a "con" - why don't they work in hard floor mode Kenmore?), the ease of using the one, on-board tool, the length of the cleaning hose and the length of the electrical cord which is held up on the handle by a secure notch, as opposed to constantly tripping over it or vacuuming over it, and the ease of emptying the clear cannister. The filters look simple to get to and when I decide it is truly a "keeper", I will order a set of replacement filters so that one set can be drying while the other set is in use. If I still had a 2-story house, I would not be willing to haul this vacuum up and down the stairs, but it works great for my needs in a ranch style home. One other "con" is that it only comes with 2 tools and they both do not fit on-board (only1 does and not very securely) and there is a brush a third of the way down on both tools, encircling the tool, that has no use whatsoever that I can figure out - - It does not move and is just "there". I also wish it had a solid, tubular shaped "extender" tool between the cleaning hose and the attachments. You have to just directly attach the attachments to the bendable hose. I know this was lengthy but I know I appreciate thorough reviews when I am researching something, so I hope this honest review is helpful. Based on my "Con" list I only give it 4 stars.

I like. Big time.
Notice the blue one has a few CHANGED features from the other colors. It does not blow dust around. The power pulled up my rug. Perfect timing cause as it's about to get hot my frenchies about to start leaving dog hair everywhere. Glad i did my home work and spent a little more for a darn good vacuum.

Mind blowing level of clean
My old vacuum broke (50$ Bissell that worked great for me for years) and I decided it was time to invest a bit more into a new one. I did a lot of research reading reviews on multiple brands and styles. I decided to go with this one because the reviews were great - even the bad ones can only complain the suction is too much for their liking. In my eyes that wasn't a bad review, I think people are just improperly using their vacuum. There is even a piece that you swivel to control suction power. Not to mention this is the first vacuum to actually work on hard floor without just spinning the dirt everywhere. I am blown away after one use. The attached picture is what this picked up from my front entrance area rug. It looks like I haven't even been vacuuming that's how much stuff came out. Very pleased with this purchase and I feel the price is incredible for the power you get. There are reviews stating its hard to maneuver and I'm unsure why they felt this way as I find it glides with such ease and moves very smoothly. If anything changes with more use I will be sure to update my review. For now though, extremely blown away!

This vacuum works!
We moved into a condo and needed a new vacuum (our previous home had central vac.) We have about a 1000 square feet of rug and this vacuum really works for us. It maneuvers very easily. It's light. Cannister empties really easily and suction is great. I put it together in about 10 minutes - no problems. We've had it now about 6 months and I'm totally satisfied with it. It works!

This is by far the best vacuum I’ve ever owned!
This is by far the best vacuum I’ve ever owned! I love the hard floor setting; it sucks without the brush running so it doesn’t kick debris away before it can be sucked up! This is a feature I have been seeking forever but never found it until now. I don’t have to have multiple vacuums, to do different jobs, as I needed before. I can transition from floor to carpet with the switch of a button. It has a great long hose which is awesome for cleaning cobwebs in the corners of the ceiling as well as baseboards and stairs. I Love this beautiful vacuum! The only thing I would love for them to add is a duo self cleaning roller brush. I have had to pick some hair from the brush, but that wasn’t an issue because it didn’t hamper its function. I would definitely suggest this vacuum to everyone! I want to buy one for my mom this Christmas! Just awesome!

Hose broke after 1 year
I LOVE this vacuum but it broke after 1 year. All of a sudden I started to hear a loud Whistle, upon inspection I notice the hose leading out of the vacuum is cracked half way around. I was able to tape it and use it still but I would consider a different brand due to this alone, a $300 vacuum shouldn't have a 1 year usage. Definitely wouldn't recommend unless you enjoy having tape on your vacuum

Excellent Kenmore Quality
I was glad to see Kenmore make a come back in Canada even though Sears closed their stores here many years ago. Kenmore has always meant to me "Quality and Durability". The suction is amazing and it is easy to handle whether you are cleaning a rug or bare floor. Make sure to read the entire manual. It is full of useful tips not given in the one page start-up sheet.
