Well made, As Shown, great price

This faucet set went together easily by me, a non plumber DIYer, with all of its rubber gasket joints that sealed without any problems. The review on here that complained about the lower joint described the situation very accurately except for one thing they missed- the plastic retainer c clip needs to be removed for assembly, it's just there to hold things in shipping. Unfortunately the instructions don't mention that, you have to look at the parts diagram where it is not shown as part of the faucet. Another puzzle for a non plumber is that the nipple that is supplied as the last part on the bottom connecting to your plumbing is typical for being found under a sink faucet, where normally a sink supply line with a rubber cone gasket threads onto the bottom. The top end goes into the valve with NPT taper threads; the bottom is IPS straight thread, which is going into a hole in your floor where there is no sink supply line, just pipe. This nipple needs to be taper threads on both ends, so you'll have to figure out how to adapt it.

Needed modifications.

Upright pipes very small and had to be modified to a larger (to be self supporting) and longer ( to fit the tub I had chosen) size by the plumber. Otherwise, beautiful.

Works great. I replaced the same unit that was older and love the 1/4 turn knobs vs the older several turn.

Scratches much too easily. Poor customer service. Hot cold caps fall out. Wouldn't buy again.

BUYER/CONTRACTOR/HOMEOWNER BEWARE

This fixture all together seems well built up front, however, as the contractor accepting the liability for this particular fixture, I DONT RECOMMEND IT TO YOU IF YOU DONT WANNA RUN THE RISK OF HAVING YOUR NEW CLAW FOOT TUB SERVE YOU AS A BOAT FOR YOUR NEW BATHROOM!!! The connection from the actual floor shut offs at the base of the unit are put together with a rubber bushing, a brass washer, that sits underneath a PLASTIC retaining clip that is supposed to be held in place by a slight indentation on the circumference of the male end of the brushed nickel supply. My customer had this fail on the hot water side only after a few uses, which we thought was odd, going into the repair we found it was evident that this wasnt a sufficient connection for a long term water tight solution. In addition to trying to figure out what went wrong we compared it to the cold water side, which held together, until we put it back together, and sure enough that connection failed also. I would not feel confident having this in my home due to the risk of complete devastation due to water, FIND SOMETHING SIMILAR ELSEWHERE!!!!
