Who Knew a Counter-Top Towel Dispenser Could Be So Good?

I was initially reluctant to switch from a traditional paper towel dispenser mounted under the kitchen cabinet immediately above my faucet to a counter-top paper dispenser. But after renovating my kitchen with a Kohler sink and faucet along with new cabinetry and subway tile backsplash, I couldn't see "messing up the look" with an under cabinet mounted towel dispenser above my faucet. So I took my contractor and cabinet maker's advice and purchased this Kohler Towel Holder with Weighted Base. Much to my delight, the Kohler towel holder with a weighted base is very stable on the countertop, and the roll of Bounty Paper Towels doesn't fall over or present any difficulties when I tear-off a sheet of paper towel. Equally important, the Kohler Towel Holder doesn't clutter the quartz countertop, and with its slimish profile in white, actually adds a bit of elegance to the overall appearance of the kitchen sink area. I'm very pleased with my decision to switch from a hanging paper towel holder to this Kohler countertop model manufactured to this company's acclaimed high quality standards.

One Towel At a Time, Everytime

It's amazing how when you decided you need an item only then do you realize from how many you have to choose. Our requirements where first, that it had a low profile and didn't detract from our white quartz counter top. It had to stand on its own when a paper towel is pulled from the roll. The roll could not spin on the center support when pulling off a section and lastly, we had to be able to pull off one section of towel with one hand. This unit meets all of our needs. The base of this unit is a made of a sort of a plastic acrylic resin-ish composite with a hard rubber bottom that is slip resistant. It's heavy enough to stand on it's own when pulling off a section of towel. The stainless steel center support holds the roll in place when pulling on a section of towel. Most important is that you can pull on the towel with one hand and the weight of the holder enables you to pull against the perforations of the towel without tearing off a corner of the next towel. In our case to get the right "pull" took a couple of weeks of trial and error. We are experts now!

Paper towel holder

Seems really silly to write a review on a paper towel holder. Was skeptical that there wasn’t a tear bar like other holders but this works great! The base is weighted enough and it won’t tip when you rip off a sheet or two. Fits Kirkland paper towels just fine! Haven’t had any issues with rolls fitting

A nice thing to have, if not a little frivolous

I'm very particular about the appearance and quality of products I use in my home, even basic things like a paper towel holder. This product looks nice and feels sturdy. It doesn't move when you pull off a sheet. It also holds paper towel rolls very tightly, making it easy to rip off a sheet without having to hold the roll in place. This can be tricky, however, because you have to "unravel" the sheet as it comes off since it doesn't spin. The stepped surface is hard to clean and the black version won't hide dust very well, so I recommend the white version as it won't have to be cleaned as often. Overall I am happy with my purchase.

We have two. they are great - did a lot of research as silly as it sounds... does not slide around and had one for 4 years now.. no issues or changes. (purchased second a year ago).

It Works. As long as the paper towel cardboard tube is big enough.

I can't say that it's particularly glamorous, but the white one looks fine on our marble-looking quartz counter top. The thing is, IT WORKS. I am able, without having to jump through hoops, to pull off one sheet, two sheets, three sheets, however many sheets, WITH ONE HAND. The base is heavy enough to keep it in place. BUT... It won't work if the paper towel roll does not turn freely on the loop. The cardboard tube has to be big enough to turn freely for it to work the way it was designed. Though it hasn't gotten dirty yet, it looks simple enough to clean.

I love it!

Previously I had an old wooden paper towel holder. It worked well for most paper towel rolls, but was too tight when using larger rolls. This KOHLER paper towel holder will work with any paper towel rolls, it's attractive, well weighted, and easy to use. I would definitely recommend it. I think it costs too much, but I like it!

Solid paper towel holder

This towel holder has a heavy base that stays pit when pullimg a paper towel off one handed. I appreciate the lack of a post to keep the towel and in place. Our old holder regularly tore towels due to that post and this is not the case with the Kohler paper towel holder.

Modern, Sturdy, Doesn’t Scratch My Counter

Very modern and clean looking. The base has a nice weight to it, so I don’t have to worry about it moving when I pull off a section of paper towel. The base is also nice and smooth so it doesn’t scratch my stone counter. It fits my Bounty triple rolls. I looked at A LOT of paper towel holders and I am so happy I picked this one!

Superb Product

This paper towel holder easily releases a section of towel with one hand. The holder does not tip over and is very attractive on the counter top. I highly recommend this Kohler paper towel holder.

Looks great

Looks great, feels very sturdy. The base is non-slip and heavy enough that sheets can easily be pulled from the roll without needing to grasp the holder.

Modern and clean

Easy to grab one sheet at a time. Jumbo sized rolls fit on easily with the large ridged base. Feels very sturdy and well made. I researched various options. This was definitely not the least expensive, but I feel I made the right choice.
