When I hit the brakes she stays on the back seat cusion , not hitting the back of the front seat, and flopping onto the floor.

Straps are too long. NOT "adjustable" (only gets bigger).
The straps are on the longer side and will not properly tighten sinch/down for a good fit. At its longest adjustment setting, it's much larger than I can imagine any truck/van seat being. I'm not quite sure why they made the straps so long. I've used "latch" on car seats in 6 or 8 different cars and all of the anchors are in about the same spot and most car seat backs are roughly in the ballpark of the same size, so I'm not sure why they chose to do this. I found a way to loop the excess and thread it over the latch anchors to effectively "shorten" the straps without having to pay money for someone to shorten and box stitch the straps for me, if you're industrious enough it's not an issue, but for the asking MSRP I expect all the design/adjustment kinks to be worked out -- or at least offer two sizes. If I permanently modified this I'd probably remove ~20 inches of webbing in total, and it'd still fit in both my vehicles; It would actually save you money to fix the design.
