Super easy to install and looks great

I ordered this to replace the original drain assembly that came with my bathtub but for some reason had never been installed properly. Installation of this drain couldn't have been easier: Screw out the old drain, remove the old putty and screw this one in. Easy peasy. I used putty instead of the gasket that came with the drain, because it was a bit too thick for my tub and didn't allow the drain to screw in flush with the tub. It's quite possible that the gasket works fine for other types of tubs. The only reason I'm not giving this drain 5 stars is the fact that while the main part of the drain is solid metal, the top part (the cap that says "PUSH" that you tap with your toe) is made of shiny plastic and not metal. To be honest, it's pretty hard to tell while standing up. But it seems to me that not having the entire thing be metal is a missed opportunity. I have no way of knowing how long the plastic part will stay shiny, whereas I believe a metal one would have lasted a good long time. (Who knows, maybe the plastic one will, too.) At any rate, it's a small issue and doesn't really affect my opinion of the drain as a whole. I just wish I'd know how easy it is two swap out a tub drain a long time ago.

Work great but gasket is too thick

Work great but the gasket is too thick for the flange to be flush to the tub. I had to replace it with the old gasket (thinner) for it to seat correctly. Other than that it worked fine.

Dont use draino with this bath plug. It will destroy the finish

High quality but no instructions

This is a quality product and if you have the tool and experience replacing these things you’ll be fine as instructions are not included. If you haven’t replaced these before check out a YouTube video to see the special tool required for installation. I’ve gotten in the habit of replacing these yearly as it’s much easier to do if the mineralization and corrosion are not severe.

So Easy! And Such An Upgrade!

Why didn’t anyone tell me to replace my tub drain before?! If I had known how easy it was to swap these things out (once you buy the drain removal tool) I would have made all my drains popup drains long ago! I’m a busy mom so I assumed Id have to delegate this task to my husband. Nope. I watched a 2 minute video on how to do it. (The secret is to spray WD-40 on the old drain and leave it for 15 minutes to get out the old one.) In under 5 minutes, I was able to toss my nasty 25 year old drain and had this shiny fancy drain that the kids can easily open and close by themselves. Obviously, I immediately ordered two more of these popup drains for my other two bathrooms, and I’m telling all my friends to replace their drains.

Great looking push up bath drain

Great looking push up bath drain. The product was very easy to install and the biggest thing is finding the fine thread drains at the big box is not existent or if it is way overpriced! Amazon is great and had it with a brass adapter as well. Products works really well. No leakage and super easy to drain. I didn't find the finishing to come off though and has Been a couple weeks since we've installed it. Holding up well!

It works well. I haven't used the copper part. I know it will fit for different size tub but a waste for mine. I suggest to sell the seal and copper part separately two save materials and also money for user.

No regrets!

Awesome product. High quality, heavy duty, easy installation. Gives option of using 1&1/2 inch or 1&1/4 inch thread size. Larger (1-1/2") brass sleeve unscrews to use smaller (1-1/4") size. Rubber "O" ring gasket is thick and durable like no other I have seen. Will never leak! Have bought 2 other styles from local stores and all failed or broke. This is a lifetime product for sure.

Buy This One

Buy this one. Heavy duty compared to the one it replaced, The body piece with the cross in it that actually screws in is brass, relatively thick and the adapter bushing is also brass. The actual tub plug is toe touch and has a brass threaded rod on the bottom of it that screws into the cross piece on the body. It's a lot more solid than the one it replaced this was similarly priced. I'll update if it fails but it seems good.

Works with old bath drain

Tried 3 different product for our old bathtub. This one works just great. Had a flat golden finish that matches our bathroom accessories.
