My kiddo thinks handwashing is a fun game now!

This is very helpful to help teach my 4 yr old how long she should scrub while handwashing. She loves it and it has turned handwashing into a fun activity, rather than a dreaded chore. It has tumbled into the sink a couple of times, and she often bops it with soapy fingers, and it's still working wonderfully, so it's a durable product. I think this is a great learning tool for home or school.

Hand washing timer for kids

This is a great tool to use to teach kids the appropriate amount of time to wash their hands. We discovered it at my son’s occupational therapy office. All of my kids (9,7,5,2) love using it and I like that they actually wash their hands instead of just wetting them w water. This would be great in a classroom bathroom or daycare bathroom as well.

Son hates the beeping noise

I think this could work very well for kids who are not sensitive to loud noises, but I am giving the 3 stars because it is not good for kids with autism. My son would not use it because of the noise. I was hoping that the noise would be less jarring and/or that there would be a setting to disable the noise so he could just watch for the light to shut off, but unfortunately there is no way to disable the sound.

Amazing solution but not waterproof

This timer has been amazing for teaching my preschooler to wash her hands for the appropriate amount of time. At first I had trouble spending money on something that seemed so trivial, but she instantly took to it and has been diligent every time. Unfortunately it ran out of batteries and when I went to change them it was dripping from the underside. I dried it the best I could but even after that and new batteries the button won’t respond any more. I’m a little disappointed that a product that is (a) for toddlers, and (b) for use related to water is not waterproof, but I should have read the instructions closer and am still ordering another. It’s too valuable to be without! I’ll put in in a plastic bag this time, or try wall mounting with a 3M strip as other reviewers have suggested. Other than the non-waterproof aspect I think this product is brilliant and would recommend!

Only wish that it had a tune to go along with light and that if they came with adhesive strips.

Simple and effective

I really like this product, it is simple and effective use, all you need to do is push the button and start washing your hands and I’ll tell you when you’re done. The only way it could be improved is to have the battery installed already, and you just pull out a tab to activate it, because it can be difficult, trying to unscrew and open it, to put the battery in.

Kids love it

Kids love this and I can finally (mostly) stop nagging them to count to 20, sing ABCs etc.

Super idea - I love it!

I bought this to use in class as the children were finding it difficult to understand the ideas of singing while they washed their hands. Explaining that they had to use this to find out how long 20 seconds was, was a game changer. They love using this and now have a much better idea of how long they should be spending washing their hands when they have to use a different sink.

Alas, not waterproof.

The timer works, but is not waterproof, and runs on AAA batteries. There are also holes on the underside of the casing. This is unfortunate as we need to have it by the sink for hand washing. Not sure how long it’s going last! The instructions actually say “avoid getting the timer wet”.

Nicht wasserfest!

Ein Handwasch-Timer, der am Waschbecken stehen soll und nicht nass werden darf, ist wohl die dämlichste Konstruktion überhaupt. Der Timer kann so nicht vernünftigt abgewischt werden (und das muss er ja regelmäßig, wenn er mit schmutzigen Händen berührt wird). Da es mir bei 10 € Kaufpreis zu blöd ist, ihn wieder zurück zu schicken, behalte ich ihn, aber sinnvoll nutzen können wir ihn nicht. Pure Enttäuschung.

Got this for my autistic child to wash their hands with timer. and its just the right ammount of sound, not too loud! Easy to wipe clean (he uses his elbow to press it anyways) .
