Many, many uses for multiple grade levels

We initially purchased these for second-grade teachers; however, teachers in third and fourth grade are using them, as well. Based on the grade level and competency of the students, they use the mats for addition/subtraction, for skip counting, for multiplication/division, and even to identify prime/composite numbers. The only negative feedback from the teachers is that the squares are not big enough for students to stand in. A few of our teachers took a large tarp and electrical tape to make a grid like this that is large enough for the students to stand in. They spread the tarp and use it outside or in the gym and the students love it for math activities. Overall, this is a great product with a lot of possible uses in the classroom, but if you're willing to do a little manual labor, you could make a mat that's much larger for less money.

I only write reviews when products both absolutely amaze me and have more than 1 use. For ages 2 and 3 roll 1 dice and 'bunny hop" that amount and go stand on the number. For higher grades you can add, subtract or multiply the 2 dice numbers. Great way to teach kids math facts without them having to sit still.

Great concept but lacking

I have owned one of these for a long time. I was going to replace it with a new one but decided not to because of the dice. They are inflatable. My old ones continue to deflate and didn't want to spend this much money for new dice that might not stay inflated. Also a design flaw is that the dice only go up to 6. How can a kid build the number 10, 30, 48, 79 or any other number that requires 0, 7, 8, or 9. So I return this item and found 10-sided dice. So if you buy this, it is only for the mat and I love the mat. Kids like it too even with the design flaws.

This is an excellent all around math resource for all elementary levels!

I use it for math fluency, number talks, addition, subtraction, finding patterns and no matter what the kids are engaged! One negative it that the number frames are a little flimsy, so I would recommend laminating them because they will get lots of use. The large dice are awesome and easy to read. Definite must have in all elementary classrooms!!!

Fun learning mat

Awesome learning tool we can use for math. Great quality. Gave it four stars because it took about three days to air out the chemical smell in the plastic.

Toxic Fumes From The Mat

As much as I love the concept of this toy, I don't love smell coming from the plastic mat! It is so toxic, I can't possibly give this to my daughter to play with. Maybe some airing out might make a difference (I hope). The two cubes, when blown up, are able to retain it's shape for a while.

Good not great

Disappointed in the quality of the frames provided they are flimsy shiny paper and I wouldn't trust children to use them more than a couple of times without breaking. There are a lot of them as indicated in product description. The size of the mat is excellent and I bought it for use in the classroom. I thought from the pictures of the inflatable dice they might not roll easily with the tab for inflating on one side of dice but they worked perfectly. Overall I'm using it in the classroom and finding it useful but there's no "game" for the children to engage with without guidance really.

Nette Idee, leider trübt der Geruch die Spielfreude sehr

Ich habe die Matte - trotz der teils negativen Bewertungen - gekauft, weil unser Kind (4 J.) gerade sehr am Zahlen lesen interessiert ist. Er ist auch total begeistert und spielt gerne damit. Allerdings muss ich mich den anderen Rezensionen anschließen: der Geruch ist kaum auszuhalten. Es riecht sehr chemisch. Nach einer Spielrunde lenke ich die Aufmerksamkeit meines Kindes auf ein anderes Spiel, damit ich die Matte schnell wieder einräumen (verstecken) kann. Sehr schade. Das kann man sicherlich auch anders lösen.

Stinkt leider sehr

An sich eine gute Idee und beim Rechnen lernen hilfreich. Preis-Leistungsmäßig eher schwach. Eine Art Plastik Matte, ein paar Rahmen und aufblasbare Würfel. Das alles wäre noch ok, leider stinkt es wirklich schrecklich! Auch nach langem Lüften dünstet es immer noch so schrecklich künstlich aus, dass die ganzen Räume danach stinken. Das macht gesundheitsmäßig ein schlechtes Gefühl und für den Preis wäre das sicher auch anders möglich gewesen.
