Very Nice Hook
I see differing opinions in the reviews. I also see multiple sellers. I believe that we may be reviewing different products. My seller was Amazon. My hook seems very solid. I put it in the garage. I have a small umbrella on the smaller hook and a jacket on the larger hook. I believe my hook is completely solid. I saw no evidence of it being hollow. But I'm not going to cut it in half to be sure. I used a level to score a line on the drywall. I positioned hook so the centers of the holes were on that line and I used a nail (as an awl) to mark where the holes go. I tapped a ting brad into the holes and removed it. This is my pilot hole. Finally I screwed the supplied screws into the drywall. The weak link is that the screws are simply in drywall. It's plenty secure for my umbrella and jacket, but I wouldn't try hanging a garden hose on it. I can't believe that someone complained about the 35 pound limit. That reviewer must be a police officer who has a flak jacket or something. There is no problem with an ordinary jacket. And a another reviewer wanted the screws to be "offset". There are only two screw holes. The holes are destined to be co-linear because two points determine a line. If the holes were in any other configuration, getting it mounted straight would be a chore. Well, I like my hook and I feel that some reviewers are being unfair or perhaps are reviewing a different product than I got.

These hooks are fine. It says coat and hat hook, but I have used it to hang up other things that were not coats or hats. I do not know if you void the warranty by hanging up things other than coats or hats. I hope not because as I said earlier, I have used them to hang up other things tat were not coats or hats. Also, the title says "heavy duty coat and hat hook" which for me is confusing because I don't know if this is for heavy duty coats or if the hook is heavy duty. I can't believe you are still reading this. But it really does not matter because I do not have any heavy duty coats. This is the most I have thought about hooks.

Does its job. Stable.
This is a standard medium sized chrome plated dual hook that works well. There are usually two problems (surprisingly) that I usually face with these types of hooks. 1) The installation only requires one nail/screw which makes the installation unstable or the thing turns on itself if you hang it improperly or have drywall. 2) my jackets fall off easily. I'm happy to report that the hooks perform admirably. The bottom hook is obviously not big enough to hang any clothes but the top one can handle most medium sized jackets, etc. I wouldn't count on the hook to hang large heavy winter coats long term. Having said this however, I have hung my full length winter coat on it and it kept it off the ground for a few hours so YMMV. Cheers.
