Love this incubator

I love this incubator. I had a Lyon Electric Incubator and this one beats the old one hands down. It is easy to use and the instructions are clear and easy to understand. The spacing for eggs is very liberal so you can incubate different sized eggs no problem. I'm incubating turkey eggs. One was very large and wouldn't turn in the cradle so I moved it to the center area and it turns a treat. I got 18 turkey eggs in it and I could have added more there was room. I put a thermometer on top of the eggs as I was told the temp at the top of the egg should be 100 degrees for best hatch. I was slightly below 100 and I increased the digital display to 100.5 for a perfect temperature at egg top. The humidity is not automatic but it is very easy to control using the exterior wells for water addition and a vent to control humidity loss. I couldn't be happier. I would buy it again.

It works - Difficult to clean - Don't use hard water

This incubator works well, if you order a separate temperature and humidity gauge like the other reviews say to do. The gauge does take up a spot an egg can go in. The clear plastic is nice because you can watch the eggs pipping and hatching easily. I've used the foam little giant incubator before with great success. It's accurate and easy to use, especially to clean up after! We hatched 7 of 13 eggs in this incubator. This thing was messy and it was difficult to clean out all the parts and little nooks and crannies. We also have hard water which left build up. So I also had to soak it in vinegar to remove those stains. DON'T USE HARD WATER. I wish I had spent a little more on the little giant. It holds more eggs, is easier to clean and how reliable the gauges on it were. However if you value seeing the little peepers peeping, then this one does work and you get a show!

It seems like a good incubator for quail and chicken. It holds temp and humidity well, design is good But I bought it for emu/rhea which was a terrible idea. With a riser it holds eggs well but the 2 egg turn options on market are very poor quality and do not work. decided to keep one incubator for quail but Tried to return the other and didn't see the little caveat about being a non returnable item.

Egg turner motor died in a year - replacement info in review

After a year of use the egg turner motor died in this unit. There was no motor replacement on the incubator's main website. Thankfully an off-brand replacement motor exists that works just fine (Uxcell) and only costs $15 here on Amazon. If you're comfortable removing six screws, stripping two leads, twirling wire together, and using electrical tape the repair is extremely easy and takes five minutes. The motor specifications are printed on the motor itself, but you will need to find a 12V AC synchronous motor at 4 watts and 50-60Hz. The original motor works at 0.9-1 revolutions per minute, finding the correct RPM can be tricky but is less essential than the electrical specs. The replacement motor I purchased has a shorter shaft and is a double flat rather than a D-shape, but it still reaches the turner just fine.

Great for beginners

We have a small backyard flock and decided to try our hand at hatching our own chickens. This incubator has everything you need from an automatic egg turner, candler, digital temperature and humidity read outs, etc. You simply add your eggs, add water throughout the process, and it does the rest. The instructions are easy to follow and we hatched 4 out of the 5 fertilized eggs we put in it on our first try so I consider that a success. One note though, if you are looking to hatch a lot of eggs I'd suggest something bigger. This one says it holds 22 chicken eggs so I put that many in there just to see and its TIGHT. From what I saw when my first 4 hatched I will not be putting more than a dozen eggs in mine at one time. Just wouldn't allow them enough room to move around in my opinion. All in all, this is a great incubator and I highly recommend it.

Good hatching rate with fertilised eggs.

The media could not be loaded. Good hatching rate with fertilised eggs. 19 duck eggs went in. 10 live ducklings made it. 6 eggs were probably unfertilised. Candles out 3. 3 more were cloudy at the end. Do not open the lid after lockdown to avoid ducklings/chicks getting shrink wrapped and dying. No option for duck egg turner plate. The eggs were bigger than the slots so had to be manually turned in the slots. Some of the ducklings got stuck to one side of the wall. Let all the ducklings/chicks hatch out for a couple of days before opening the lid to move them. Once opened make sure the rest don’t get shrink wrapped and die. I got 10 live ducklings, (9 Aylesbury and 1 Muscovy) both with different incubation times (28 for Aylesbury and the rest went into a second lockdown before the 35th day hatch out). 2 further ducklings got shrink wrapped and died. One died probably on the 20th day or so. I had to help out the Muscovy as it was getting exhausted after pecking for 3 days. The second pipped Muscovy egg did not make it. The 10th Aylesbury pipped egg did not make it either. But satisfied with the overall product. Hatches the outer eggs as well as inner eggs in the turning plate.

Impossible to clean effectively

Good instructions, easy to see into and simple to use. However, the humidity is difficult to keep at the level you need and, most importantly, the shape of the machine and the unprotected, non-waterproof electrics, heating bands and fan at the top make it completely impossible to thoroughly clean between uses so I now have an expensive bacteria breeding colony to try and bring chicks into the world in. Wish I had got a Brindisa unit

The BEST

I love this incubator!!! After purchasing cheaper ones and having very low hatch rates i decided to spend a little more and get this. I’ve watched a lot of reviews about this on YouTube. I will update when the chicks arrive!

Great but if kit

This is defo a good bit of kit. My only issue was that the incubator lid has scratch marks on it, only reason I dint send back was the fact I had ordered hatching eggs to put in it and they were out of stock to get a replacement.
