Runs small - length is long - not for petites

I am 5'2" and typically wear a medium (size 6-8) in pants. In reading numerous reviews and paying closer attention to what people wrote about sizing/fit, I ordered a large. Yes the pants fit me in the waist, although they were a little bit tight. The fit on my waist wasn't the dealbreaker, it was primarily the length and how the pants fit everywhere else. The pant's were very baggy in the legs but the worse part was these pants are way way too long. I should have verified the inseam and not have gone by the reviews.

Effective pants when you are in a rain storm

This had was manufactured in Vietnam. Marmot is a reliable outdoor brand. Outdoor Clothing often lacks sex appeal. It's functional, but not fashionable. Cease rain pants are no exception. My wife got a size medium even though she normally wears a size small. She should definitely have gotten a size small, as you can see from the photos besides medium is a bit too big for her frame. She weighs 50 kg and is 170 cm tall. If you live in the only backward country that has not does not use the metric system, that means that she is a 110 pounds and 5 foot 7 in. It's your bit bigger than that, then go for a size medium, which is what she is wearing in the photos. I hope the photos are helpful. If you need rain pants and you don't want them to take up that much space in your backpack, sis might be a pretty good option because they are pretty minimalist. Say have a zipper by the ankles so that you can put them on over your boots and since them tight as necessary. Their zippers in the pockets as well. See if you can get it for about $100, it's a great deal. Over $100, I would only give this four stars. I have backpacked over 20,000 miles on foot, so I kind of know a lot about outdoor gear. And that's about 30,000 km.

Runs small and short

I ordered a medium because I generally always wear a medium (size 6-8). These were really tight on the waist and the rise was really short so that I had to pull them down on my hips to make them even slightly comfortable. I returned them. I guess I could have ordered a large to try it out, but it seems to run both small and short. I’m 5’8” and 140 lbs.

Stay dry!

This is a “get what you pay for” situation. Most product com this brand are indeed on the higher end of the price scale. I used to work retail in the outdoor recreation industry and frequently recommended this product, but could not bring myself to spring for it. That being said, it is well designed. There is plenty of room in the seat and crotch for bending, squatting etc. the knees are gusseted to allow movement without pulling somewhere else on the garment. The back of the waist is elastic so there is some give there as well. The cuffs’ drawstrings and snaps ensure good snugness around the ankles. All zippers are sealed. For a rest, I wore this in the shower with a rain jacket. I had the water on full blast, moved around, did knee lifts and squats to test the comfort and water proofness. I did not experience any leaking or discomfort. I did have some perspiration due to the hot water, but much less than if I was wearing a lower quality product or plastic (aka breathable). One thing to remember, this item and other like it do require proper care. Read the care label and understand what you have. This isn’t a rubber suit, you should not use regular detergent, and never put it in the drier. But this is a great product for rain or spring skiing.

Great quality, but runs small.

I had planned on wearing these over some mid weight wool leggings for hiking and walking my dog during the cold weather, but they were much too small for me. For reference, I am 5'5", 150 lbs. and I usually wear a medium in pants. I passed them on to my daughter. These are her remarks. What I liked: Pockets! And they have waterproof zippers! Gussetted knees for freedom of movement. Zippers at the leg bottoms make it easy to pull them over boots. Cinches at the ankles help keep out ticks. Gathered waist is comfortable. Does a great job of blocking wind and rain. What I would improve: I would make them a bit longer and a bit more room in the rise, since they seem to have a petite fit. I'd also add another inch to the pockets. Four stars.

Extreme camel toe

These pants seem to be made of really nice fabric…not sure what happened, but I’ve never encountered a pair of pants that fit quite like this before. The front rides up to a degree where someone could legitimately injure themselves. In the words of Fanny Pack, “I said mhm, alright, uh huh, oh no! Fix yourself girl, you’ve got a camel toe!” No thanks! Sending them back.

Always impressed by outstanding Marmot quality

I am a huge fan of Marmot products, and once again I am not disappointed. What I love about this brand is attention to detail, every seam is carefully tailored. I was trying to find a flaw… nothing, it is all perfect. These pant are super lightweight and great for those misty mountain hikes, very comfortable and versatile at the same time. You can pull the string on the bottom to tie it tighter around your ankle or just leave it straight. The side zipper is perfect for fitting these pants on top of the boots, it is wide enough to wear them over the ski boots as well. Size M is a true size 6. Inner waist band is lined with softer fabric and the back of it is a stretchy waist band, but flat in the front, so it doesn’t give that bulky look, but adjusts as you move and make the wear even more comfortable. The material used in these pants don’t require wearing an additional underlining garment, as it is comfortable on the skin, not like the other rain pants that have a “plasticky” feel. Great product. Highly recommend. Can't say enough good about it.

Comfortable, quiet when walking, breathable, available in different lengths

We just did our first backpacking trip of the season and it rained for 24 hours. I tried a rain skirt hiking in to the campsite and then that evening put these rain pants on over my hiking pants to keep warm and "cut" the wind. The next morning I put these rain pants on over my sleep/performance 50 polyester/50 merino wool long base layer pants and hiked out back to the car in them (about 5 or 6 km) and they were quiet when walking (no swishing noises) and I did not overheat. It was in the Spring and about 5 to 12 degrees Celsius. I highly recommend these rain pants because of the breathability, comfort and being able to order a variety of lengths.

Nice quality tight but to the waist and hips

Like many other comments 1 have one complaint the pants are to tight to the waist and hip but not enough to return it. Would be more comfortable with a half added to this region. I boughed a large it was way to long and the waist a little baggy, then the medium arrive this time the length is perfect with the possibility to tight the end. I am 4’11 and wait 147pounds. It is a good waterproof pant we walk in pouring rain and keep dry. Would buy again hope the company will adjust the cute.

Ho preso una S, sono alta 170 x 56kg, sono perfetti anche sotto un paio di leggins. Pantalone leggero dal taglio elegante. Non li ho ancora provati sotto la pioggia ma conosco la marca e la sicurezza gore-tex e sono sicura che non avrò sorprese.
