It will produce a powder.
After experimenting with many pill crushers we finally found one that is able to pulverize the pills into a fine enough powder for my husband to swallow. This devise is expensive but well worth the extra money, especially for someone with difficulty swallowing either the whole pill or pieces of the prescribed amount. The only possible negative: it is heavy and it might prove difficult for someone with a weaker grip to manage. Even though, I would buy this again and would recommend it. As with other users we did notice that the coating of some pills does not break down but in no way did this interfere.

O.M.G. Can you say life changing??!! The cheap little plastic "pepper mill" pill crusher the hospital gave really hurt my mom's arthritic hands. This does a phenomenonal job crushing pills to a beautiful powder!!! Dad just got a peg tube installed, so we needed pills crushed and diluted in water to place in his peg tube. This device is the best- VERY satisfied with the purchase!!! If you notice large sized pieces in the cup of crushed pills it is just the pill coating that cannot be crushed- we pulled those out!

This pill crusher is amazing. 5 stars is not enough. It’s more like a 10-star product. My husband has severe arthritis in his thumbs and crushing pills with a traditional pill “grinder” was torture. I bought this for him and it has made his life so much easier. The price scared me at first but it’s definitely worth it. It’s solid, not flimsy plastic like other crushers. And it requires no effort at all. Crushes pills with one simple press.

I have had gastric bypass and have been using another brand and wanted another one for where I was staying for a while and tried this one. This works well if all the pills are the same width. If 1 or more pills are thicker, it will crush the thicker one but not the others. It makes a big deal about pancaking the pills but if the cup is squished around from the side a bit it is clear that they are crushed and will fall apart easily. I will stick with the other one with the plastic sleeves.

Too expensive !
This item made crushing pills a lot of work because it only pancaked the pills which still needed to be broken or crumbled. Returned and ordered a pill grinder that made the job much easier using a one step process.
