Nice windmill set that integrates with others
As someone who builds a lot of LEGO sets, MEGA's piece catalog always amuses me as there are so many custom pieces used in their sets. But that's just a different philosophical approach and it is the build experience and final product that I'll be writing up here. Let's take for example the sheep figure, Wooloo. The innards use common pieces but then are placed into a silicone skin representing the woolly exterior. Then Wooloo's "ponytails" are another interesting silicone piece sandwiched between other pieces that form the head. At this scale, the other figures use custom pieces as well, like Pikachu's tail and the owl Noctowl's thin silicone "eyebrows", wings, tail and claw pieces. One can't argue with the end result: small figures that look a lot better than if no custom pieces were used to build them. MEGA uses what I call the "polka dot" style of building instructions where colored dots highlight the target studs onto which pieces are to be placed. It works, but the approach sometimes creates confusion when some studs doesn't exist below a piece to lock on to. But one can always peek ahead one step to see the results of the current build step. One of the turquoise slope pieces that forms the base of the windmill was not fully formed out of the mould so I had to leave it out. I have requested a replacement piece from MEGA but the build can be completed by leaving a gap at the back of the windmill. The missing piece is fortunately not noticeable unless the set is viewed from behind. The Technic style pieces used to generate motion are fairly common in official LEGO builds. The transparent gear piece that enables the motion is at the heart of it. Rotating the long axle triggers three movements: -- Noctowl flying around above the windmill -- Wooloo tilting up and down -- Pikachu sliding back and forth While the movements are rather rudimentary, it is Noctowl's flying about that seems the best motion incorporated into the set. This windmill set was designed to integrate with other MEGA Pokemon sets. This becomes clear when one considers that there is a long axle that remains unterminated and hinge bricks at the corners that don't connect to anything. We had previously built the MEGA HKT25 Dragonite set that integrates well with this windmill set. Removing Noctowl from the top of the windmill and attaching pieces from HKT25 will allow Dragonite to mount above the windmill instead. The vertical axle that drives Noctowl's flying now drives Dragonite's flapping wings. Having MEGA Pokemon sets integrate together adds overall value to the collection and enhances both the play and display value. Overall, this set is a fairly straight forward build with three nice figures, rudimentary motion and simple windmill build. The real value comes from its ability to integrate with other Pokemon sets.

Kid loved it, but...
These blocks were SO hard to put together. My son, who LOVES everything lego, got frustrated putting this together. It was a pain to get the sheep Pokemon's head together--the pieces were just a little off. HOWEVER, once we got it together, he LOVED it. It's really cool how they set Pidgy on top to "fly" around the windmill because there's this clear bar that attaches to his perch, and it actually looks like he's flying from farther away. The gear system is great, moving the sheep and Pikachu too. Now he wants the other sets to attach that are advertised on the box and in the directions. I'm not sold on the build, but who's going to argue with a happy 5yo?

piece quality
My third set of these. They are coming a long way trying to compete with lego. I like the concept and I think they're doing a great job so far. However, some of the pieces I have noticed in all 3 sets are not snug enough. The instructions are laid out well. Some areas I feel like it would have been easier to build something the opposite order from the way that this shows you. I still think that this is a fun play set, and I like how you get continue expanding them. adding other sets to them. A good experience to build with my children. My daughter couldn't keep the pieces together by herself while following the instructions.

More Pokémon
My son loves Pokémon and brick-building. He already had one set from this series, so he was excited to try another one. The build was fairly easy. The instructions were clear, as they always are with this brand. The quality of the pieces is consistent with this brand as well. There are several unique pieces, such as the soft plastic wooly coat for the sheep Pokemon. The mechanics in this set are basic, but they work. My son tried to add the mechanical dinosaur/dragon Pokémon from another set in this series. It took some time and swapping out a key piece before he got it to work. The movement is not amazing, but it is functional. I would not purchase this set for the movement feature alone, but if you like the Pokémon that are included, it may be worth it to you.

We still remember Pokémon!
I like the characters in this set. These are like the Legos I used to have. I don't have enough space to build everything, but I plan to display the windmill.

Very good
Very good set, but could be designed better. Not much secures the windmill to the rest of the floor plates. All pieces were there.

Enjoyable for all ages!
I have built legos and mega blocks for years! This was a fun little set to build. Pokémon just added to the enjoyment of building this set. The pieces all snapped together easily. I liked that the bags were labeled 1 - 6. The instructions made it very clear which bagpipes was needed so you didn’t have all 240 pieces to sort through. This would make building so much simpler for younger children or for older kids without much experience building these types of sets. This definitely helps keep the frustration level of children to a minimum. Overall, this was a nice product and was exactly what I expected. It took about an hour and a half to build.

Absolutely adorable!
The entire set ends up smaller than I expected (you'd think a windmill would be pretty big). But it looks really cute when it's done. There's even some basic movement when you turn a crank. Overall, good crossover for mega block / pokemon fans.
