This device worked as promised
The mixer was a very tight fit going in the glass carboy neck. I was worried going in that I would force it and it would break, I was MORE worried about drawing it back out that it would break and stay in the carboy. That didn't happen. I've used it plenty and it seems kinda' scary each time, but continues to work just great.

I missed the fine print...
This will not fit in a gallon carboy. I knocked down one star because of that but then I went back and read the full description and it clearly states it doesn't fit 1/2 and 1 gallon carboys. They should list what size bottles it fits in the title. I happen to have some 5 gallon carboys so I'll use it for those.

Works
Only used once so far and it worked. Barely fits carboy hole.

Good buy
Easy to use, easy to clean. A little more forgiving then the stainless steel versions.

Perfect
I didn’t want to spend a bunch of money on an oxygen tank, wand, and oxygen. This is a great alternative and works just the same.

Almost too big for carboys
This one doesn't just slip into the carboy. Took a bit of finagling and finally got it in there. Spent a minute easing the speed up until I got about 2-3 inches of foam. Pitched my yeast and they really appreciated that healthy, aerated wort. They took off inside a few hours.

Too long and awkward to use in 1-gallon jugs
I only brew in 1-gallon jugs, not 5-gallon jugs. This tool is more suited for jugs of 5 gallons or more. Technically one could use this in 1-gallon jugs, but during insertion you will need to have a steady enough hand that the 1 foot or so of "open stick length" doesn't touch the side of the jug's mouth. I ended up returning this product. Because the package is of an unusual shape, too, the process for returning the product with minimal bother to employees was a nightmare. I was given the option of dropping it off at a Kohl's, which required a long drive, and employees there would pack it and make the return label themselves. Putting some poor minimum wage employee at Kohl's to pack a single shopping mistake of mine, made me anxious, so I went with the option Amazon Hub Locker Plus, which... gave me the task to trek out to the closest Whole Foods Market, which would take me at least an hour each direction via public transit (I can't drive, due to a disability). I ended up giving the labeled package to my spouse, who trekked out in his car to drop it off, getting caught in traffic along the way. Despite his prior insistence that he'd be happy to run errands for me that are faster to do via car than transit, I could tell after the ordeal that he was NOT happy that the extra errand had been necessary. Tl;dr: if you only brew in 1-gallon jugs and want to use this, your Dexterity stat in your dominant hand should be at least 8/10, and prepare to use your bathtub to hold your sanitizing solution as you sanitize this long-ass rod. If you are disabled to the point that you can't drive a car, don't order ANYTHING off Amazon that exceeds 1 foot in length in any dimension.

Much more effective than a wine whip to degas.
Didn't have any problem fitting this into the neck of my glass carboy. Yes, it's tight, but that's the point. Small paddles would produce less agitation, which is contrary to its purpose. In fact, this agitates and mixes the liquid quite effectively. I used to degas my wine with a whip, which I attached to a cordless drill and would run for five minutes straight. With this rod, I can't run it for more than 10-20 seconds at a time. It degassed my wine much more efficiently and quickly. Just be cautious about using this agitator rod for too long, which can cause a whirlpool effect and create an overflow of your liquid out of your container.
