Beautiful light. It receives a lot of complements

Progress Lighting P5012-09 Contemporary Stem-Hung Pendant, Brushed Nickel Beautiful light. It receives a lot of complements. Very well made. I am very happy with my choice. I was smart in getting something with an open bottom that wouldn't collect dead bugs that would have to be removed and washed regularly to get rid of those few who met their demise and continued to make their presence known in the light every time you look up. What I didn't count on was that the clear glass shade, a decent size that covers a fair amount of square inches, is pretty good at accumulating a layer of dust so I take a microfiber dust cloth to it every week, sometimes more. Is it the end of the world? Nope, but it's probably the only lamp shade I own that I have to dust. It's a great looking lamp though and I'd make the same choice but if it were in a location that was difficult to reach, I'd have to decide how much that layer of dust would bother me and what I could do when it got too thick to ignore.

Got these installed, it was easy and the look great!

Love the lights...more imortantly my wife loved the lights. Fairly easy to mount. It was more hassle to put in the remodel gang box in place of the can that was in the ceiling. One issue is the base that covers the whole in the ceiling is too small to cover normal can size holes. This is key if you are replacing a can light (common in most base kitchens) with a hanging light. I had to buy a seperate cover that goes between the ceiling cover and the ceiling that hides the hole (looks nice, just some added expense I was not planning on). If it was designed with the idea of covering a full can light hole, I would give it five stars. One other challenge to keep in mind in post-incandecent 2014: Bulbs. I took 3 tries (and returns) to get a bulb I liked. Finally settled on 40w hallogen. Don't try an LED. The light was a nice color but the limited light throw towrad the ceiling/base will make the top part of frosted glass dark. I used a halogen bulb and it gives the whole piece a nice warm glow.

Looks great, with a couple quirks

We bought 4 of these for our new kitchen which was remodeled down to the studs and back up. We're still putting in the final finishes, but we've already had good comments about these lights. They look really modern, yet feel in-place in our mostly traditional kitchen. Only reason for the 4-star vs 5, is that you're somewhat restricted on the length they can hang. Each light comes with 4 rods in two sizes. The difference in length is only a couple inches between the two. So you really can't vary the height that much - we ended up using two shorter rods (and not using the long rods) and still wishing we could raise them up a bit (but not nearly as high as using a single longer rod would have done). Also, one of our 4 lights seems a little loose, and at first glance there was no way to tighten it. I'm probably going to have to take the whole thing back down and inspect it closer, and possibly return it for a replacement if it's not fixable. But all in all highly recommended.

Great looking pendants

These look as good as the pictures, we like them a lot. Mounted 3 in kitchen above the 4x7' island, they do not overpower the room. Throw a lot of light, unlike some pendants. They come with 2 12" and 2 15" rods that can be assembled in any fashion to get a lot of options in installed height. 1/3 the price of the local lighting store for the exact same item.

cut mounting bolts

read the reviews was a little hesitant about the base sitting flush after I installed I figured out what everyone was talking about had like half inch gap took it backdown and cut the mounting bolts about 3/8 and then it fit perfect also was able to install flood light bulbs in it lit the kitchen up great

Great Modern Look with Just One Aggravating Flaw

I wanted to rate this a 5 because it looks great. Had 2 professionally installed. Only problem, as some have stated, it doesn’t really sit flush against the ceiling. The finished nickel cover that goes over the bracket that attaches to electrical box in ceiling, doesn’t properly fit over the bracket and cover can’t quite sit flush against the ceiling. It’s not horrendous but enough to make me and the electrician crazy! We’re letting it go because it’s not THAT noticeable but too bad...other than this flaw, they really look magnificent.

Bought 2 to hang from my 9.5ft ceilings over kitchen sink to replace others that had burnt sockets. They look awesome! Really nice quailty for the price. Hung 'em by myself too. ;-)

Nice looking lamp

The wires were a little long as I used all the connector to hang it. I put a Phillips flat led bulb in it and it out did the 100 watt that was in there. Oh be careful on the connectors at the joints as they can just screw out.
