Nice towel bar, terrible anchors

These bathroom accessories look very nice and are solidly built. The problem is with the anchors provided by Moen. They seem good, but they don't hold, and getting them out leaves a hole too big for the threaded anchors. Not exactly pleased to have to move the item and then patch drywall and paint. This has happened with three of the four Moen Retreat accessories we have installed. We won't use their anchors on the fifth.

Beautiful, sturdy, and functional, and from the only name we trust in bathroom and kitchen fixtures and faucets, Moen.

We did some remodeling in our bathroom, and replaced 2 broken towel bars with 3 of these clever Moen double towel bars, one for each family member. We also bought the matching D-Ring Hand Towel bar. They were all installed by professionals, so I can't speak as to the ease of installation, however, it should be noted that our builder very much prefers Moen products for their quality and longevity. They are beautiful, sturdy, and we have had no problems with them in the month they've been up, nor do we expect any trouble (proven by years of prior experience). Should that ever change, I will rush back to this review to edit it, adding any additional facts that have come to light. It's very nice to be able to have damp washcloths hung separately from damp towels as they dry much faster with that bit of airspace between them. We have decided to hang the towel on the front bar, and the washcloths on the back bar, and it is working very well for us. I don't know if that is what Moen recommends, but we are very satisfied with this technique. The 3 24" towel bars (and matching D-Ring Hand Towel holder, also purchased at Amazon) were all purchased via Amazon.com, and we are very satisfied with the trio's prices, as well as the obvious quality of each. We have purchased from several* of the other major faucet and bathroom/kitchen equipment national brands previously in our 38 years of marriage, but every other time, we were sorely disappointed. The other products broke much too quickly, even though some cost significantly more than their stellar Moen replacements. We will, therefore, never buy anything than Moen again. These *other companies were: Delta, Price-Pfister, and Kohler, as well as a Lowes brand, which was extremely short-lived junk and which broke irreparably in just a few weeks. Others disappoint, but Moen proves superior products again and again for 30+ years! I also like that they were shipped from and sold by Amazon.com.

Excellent Quality and Appearance

I was finishing a remodel to our Master Bathroom. Not wanting to spend too much, we chose lighting, mirrors, and accessories, like this towel bar, from different manufacterers. The last thing needed was a dual towel bar on a wall next to a sink. The wall where the towel bar would attach was less than 24 inches wide. Additionally, if the towel bar "stuck out" too far, it would interfere with a mirror. Since I have used a fair number of Moen towel bars, mirrors, and paper holders, I started looking on the Moen site for a towel bar, preferably one with two bars and 18 inches wide, and, to whatever extent possible, similar in design to the mirrors and light fixtures. I found this towel bar and it fit all of my requirements except that it was too long. This was not a problem because I could always cut the two bars shorter. It didn't appear that this model was available in a shorter length. Looking at the specification, it was not exactly clear how far the towel bar "stuck out" from the wall so I called Moen. They clarified things and this bar would easily work if I just cut it shorter. When I searched for it on the internet, not surprisingly, Amazon had it and at a good discount. Since I have Amazon "Prime", shipping was free. The quality of this towel bar is excellent and, like other Moen accessories, easy to install.

Nice towel bar but quality has deteriorated

We had one of these in a previous bathroom that was purchased about 3 years ago. We loved it and purchased again for our new home. The space between the double bars needs to be bigger; it works but is tight with nice towels. The bars also roll and don’t fight tightly in the mounts. Our previous purchase didn’t have either of these issues. Still a nice double towel bar, but definitely not up to Moen quality for the price.

LOVE IT!!

I've had this up for about a year before writing the review - lazy me. I LOVE this towel bar. What a silly thing. I was afraid I wouldn't after reading some others comments saying the towels didn't dry or it stuck out too far from the wall - I have not found either of these to be an issue. I have a very small bathroom and I wanted to get rid of the visual clutter. It also just takes so much wall space to hang up one bar high and one low - one towel always ends up so close to the floor that way and I don't like that. If you need more than two bath towels and have a long wall you could even hand up two of these side by side. If the towel is folded in half you have room for a wash cloth. If you have trouble with towels not drying, you can hang them unfolded for a bit to dry then go fold them over. My hubby's note is you NEED to hang this in studs due to the weight.

All Retreat Brushed Nickel under my purchase history are getting 5 STAR reviews. These are stylish for one. Next area of satisfaction is the "tough", yet "universal" look of this line of Moen products. It is very hard to find something that is heavy duty. Stylish (appealing to me). "Highly satisfactory in appearance" per the man in the house. LOL - that means a lot coming from him. I had purchased only one robe hook. After viewing it upon arrival. I went right back in and purchased two more. The towel bars, etc. It is worth the money and you WILL PAY LESS than Lowes when searching on Amazon. You do have to meet that "minimum purchase amount" but you will find it is worth it. Who doesn't need $49 in product at some point from Amazon? I matched this line with faucets that had a similar base and cabinet knobs that were darn near identical on Amazon. It looks fantastic!

No Voss model in double to be found . This was a close match

We chose the Retreat model double towel bar, since it was closest (the base part) to the Voss model faucets and hand towel holders we already ordered. We could not find a Voss double towel bar. But this was a close second and looks good.
