Excellent Task Lighting
Moffatt lamps are outstanding quality. I now have 6 of them in my shop, mounted on or near various machines. This one was purchased to replace the light which came on my drill press. That light was of similar design, but had no heat sink, a cheezy rotating switch that was difficult to use, and the flex arm was just too flexible -- it would not stay where positioned. Like all my other Moffatt lamps, this one stays pointed where you point it! The heat sink allows up to a 100w bulb to be used, and the "flip switch" is easy to operate with one finger, even when wearing gloves. This particular model (#95049) has a fixed, screw-down base (Moffat calls it a "Direct Mount Base"). The holes are 1-3/8" center-to-center. Other models have a quick-connect base which swivels and supports multiple attachments (fixed stud, magnet, table clamp), but the swivel means the mounting surface must be horizontal. The Direct Mount Base is needed if the mounting location is vertical, such as the side of a drill press. Great lamps at a reasonable price.

Expected better
Expected better from Moffatt. I know product information lists 'vinyl for resistance to grease and oil' whereas in reality, it's cheap plastic. There have to be other products which would be just as resistant, if not more so, to grease and oil. No way was I keeping this lamp.

You Can't Beat Moffat
I rarely write reviews, but this one certainly deserves more attention than it gets on Amazon. This is the best work light I've ever owned/used. The neck has just the right amount of stiffness, which is significantly more than most goosenecks. The toggle switch has a satisfyingly positive action. The materials and construction are high quality - far better than other work lights I've owned. I believe it's entirely made in America. I expect this thing to last a long time. I wish I'd known about Moffat a long time ago - it would've saved me lots of money and frustration with sub-par work lights.
