Nice looking BUT MAJOR design flaw - most light bulbs do not fit and can burn the white shade.

Asthetically, this is a great light fixture that looks good in our family room. However, it has a MAJOR design flaw. The fixture supposedly accommodates 6 light bulbs, but therein lies the problem. We put 6 standard 60 watt bulbs in the fixture. After a few hours we smelled a faint burning smell. We eventually determined that two of the six bulb holders are too close to the shade such that the lightbulbs are too long and sit up against the inside of the shade. The burning we smelled is because two of the standard bulbs actually melted the white fabric "shade" around the fixture. Now our shade has two yellow burn marks. Then we tried three different sizes of "green" lightbulbs, which we hoped were shorter and are less hot than standard bulbs. Unfortunately, even green lightbulbs are also too long and touch the inside of the shade. Ultimately we took out the two bulbs that touch the shade and are simply using four standard light bulbs. I am going to contact Amazon to request a replacement shade - nothing in the instructions or on the box indicates the fixture does not accommodate standard or green lightbulbs, nor does it warn of the potential fire hazard. Again, the fixture looks great and I am glad we bought it, but be warned you need special lightbulbs if you order it. UDPATE: Amazon customer service was very helpful. I want to keep the fixture, but they are sending me a new one so I can swap out the defective lamp shade. I will still only use 4 lightbulbs to avoid burning the shade. Thanks to Amazon for the help solving this problem.

Just installed this light, looks very nice, but shade blocks a lot of light

This light was a nice upgrade from our old standard tube lighting in our office waiting room, and it was easy to install myself, however the shade blocks a lot of light. I put six 60w equivalent Phillips led daylight bulbs in and it's not enough light for a 15 by 12 room. I will have to buy another one and have my contractor run electrical to the other side of the room. Otherwise it looks great and it's easy to install.

No, just no

Nuvo Lighting really had some hits and misses. When its good, its good. When its bad, its this. I had an immediately negative reaction when I pulled it out of the box. The round thing is fabric, and it all misshapen in the box. It looked super-cheap. Returned!

Oval Shaped

Love it but it wasn't as expected. I missed the fact that the light is oval, not round. Then decided the oval will be great. Not installed yet.

Disappointed

Product arrived damaged although it is packed very securely and the exterior box was not damaged. I was really looking forward to it but I don't think I'll purchase again.
