True to size **for surfing**. If you are buying it for any other reason, it'll be too small
I (6ft, 195lbs) wear XL t-shirts , and ordered an XL rash guard which fit perfectly (i.e. skin tight, in order to prevent rashes from surfing). No issues getting it on or off (I've had rash guards where this was an issue), and once on it is tight but comfortable. This is not an item you wear so that you look good, it's main purpose is to prevent rashes from a waxed surfboard (and it's secondary purpose is to prevent sunburn). I assume that reviewers complaining about it being too tight are not surfers, and are buying it simply to prevent sunburn. In that case, I recommend a fishing long-sleeve shirt, which will fit like a regular long-sleeve shirt.

These are ridiculously small
I read all the reviews and based on that, ordered a size larger (almost 2 sizes larger) and this thing is so tight it cuts off my circulation. I've seen responses to other posts like this, so I want to point out a couple of things: 1) I've been a SCUBA diver for over 20 years and have bought a lot of "skins" in my time, so i'm not ignorant about this product and how it should fit. I've actually bought ONeil for years, so i'm familiar with their sizing. 2) I am not "large" or abnormal - I am a fit, 5'10" - 190lb person with 44" chest. I normally wear a Medium or Large shirt - usually a medium if it is normal fit, and large if it is slim fit. I ordered an X-LARGE and it did not fit! When i say "does not fit", i don't mean "its tight" - it supposed to be tight/form fitting. When i say it doesn't fit, i mean it was literally cutting off my circulation. IMHO sizing is not rocket science - before i ordered, i double checked the size i would need here: [...] So be forewarned that the sizing is not according to the charts by ONeil. I'm trying to decide if i want to order an even larger size or just go to another brand.

Order several sizes larger than you think
You probably need to go up several sizes to find a good fit. I generally wear a medium sized t-shirt and based off the listed measurements, I purchased a XL sized of this product. This was very tight compared my other medium sized swim/kayaking shirts, so I ended up returning it.

Very good rash guard but understand what you're buying
Bought this rash guard to wear at the beach or pool while in or out of the water. It's comfortable, light and easy to move in. I'm not hot at all while in the sun. But understand that it's going to be tight and snug. If you want a loose fitting shirt, look for one that's marketed as a "Loose Fit" rash guard or buy this at least a size or two larger than your usual shirt size. I am 6' 1" and 185 lbs. I bought an XL and it is snug; I probably could fit into an 2 XL comfortably as well.

Fits snug, which is the way it's designed. My husband wears a large and I bought him a large. Soon to see how well it protects against the sun. I will update after snorkeling trip

Como son para surf quedan muy justas, si se van a usar como bloqueador as de sol y no propiamente en el agua, es preferible comparar dos tallas más grande que la habitual. Bloquean muy bien el sol (en ciudad) como para esos trabajos en el sol. Resistente a lavarse en máquina, sólo lavar con agua fría.

Excelent quality, very effective at blocking the sun. ONLY deficiency is that the collar is very thin or short and leaves the neck unprotected. My old cressi was at least a centimeter or 2 wider
