warm packable not great with long hair

Warm hat. Folds and travels well. Fits a little small since the fold down part tucks away inside. Also while the wool warmers are great in theory in practice they dont work so great for women since long thick hair tends to push the wool ear muffs away from the ear. Would be better if the ear parts were separate pieces.

Good buy!

Excellent quality cap. Warm/cool when it needs to be, weather resistant, stylish; funky color ( I got the blue one). Only drawback is sizing. I ordered a size up (xl) to account for tucked-up ear flaps. Because I have another OR cadet cap that is the right size (L) but has no room for anything else. So the xl is a tad big, but nothing too pronounced. Also like the foldabity of the cap. Great for travelling.

Great hat!

I like this hat a lot. It's great for winter weather and the earflaps make it nice and cozy--though the brow is made of the same material as the outside of the hat, and it sticks to you if you perspire even a little. Could definitely use a strip of cloth there.

Warm, but bad execution.

The sides are really long even with the flaps tucked in. So when you wear it like a normal hat, you have to pull it over the tips of your ears, at least for me. Also the material by the forehead area bunches up and comes down a bit. This makes it look a little funny and can get quite annoying. It is definitely warm, but the fit of the hat is not great, hence the 3 stars. Can't really find this hat around anymore besides Amazon and I'm guessing this fit issue was one of the problems. I expected a bit more from OR especially for a $45 hat.

Nice quality but runs small and sides poof out

Nice quality but runs small. There is no sizing chart on amazon but OR site says a large is 23.25". My head is 23" so I got the large and it's too tight. It's even worse with the sides pulled down because the knit fabric doubles over on itself. And the sides don't lay very flat unless you roll the edge trim up on the outside of your ears. If you hook the edge band under your earlobes the sides poof out like you are wearing a hair net in a cafeteria kitchen.

Fabric is very slippery, the hat tends to move around to much on my head, and my head lamp will not stay on the hat. Very warm, almost too warm when active, ear flaps marginal at best, OR needs to redesign the ear flaps.

A little small on the fitting.

The design is great but it was kinda small. I have not worn it over a long period but I hope prolonged usage could stretch and expand it.
