Lovely, heats fast.
The kettle is very attractive and it heats water quickly. I'm very pleased, especially for the price. It wasn't much more expensive than a plain, small kettle. Seems very sturdy as well. Really enjoy making my nightly tea with it!

Nice hot pot
I live rurally and use solar. This is a good size. Heats enough water for coffee AND enough hot water left over to do dishes. Just wish it turned off once water boils. It will turn off if it boils dry, but my older, smaller hot pot turned off once the water boiled. I miss that feature. Over all, it's worth the price.

Beautiful kettle!
This white Ovente kettle is so classy and it is beautiful on my counter. With a full kettle of water, it takes about 5 minutes to heat up to boiling and automatic shut off. I tested the time for 2 cups and it's about 2:20 minutes. I bought a French press for my loose leaf tea and my Vita Cup ground coffee. They give me special happiness during the day and I LOVE my matte white kettle! People notice it too! When you walk into the kitchen your eyes go right to it. The reason for the 4 star is because the white part does get hot. It doesn't burn you, it's just hot like your cup of coffee. Otherwise, this would be a 5 star review. Another reviewer said it's heavy. Well yeah it's heavy with a full pot of water. How heavy is your half gallon or gallon of milk? You can always just put in what you need to boil to keep it lighter. It really is a beautiful kettle. I'm sure the black and silver are beautiful too. I really like the flat matte. When this one breaks down, I'll get the black one. If you're on the fence about this kettle, just pick a color and order. It's classy and sits pretty on the counter.

It's still going strong but...
I took my time to write this review (I purchased the kettle in Oct 2019 and it's been heavily used...multiple times daily) and it's only now, as I'm looking for a new kettle, that I can appreciate how good this one has been to me and why I'll probably end up buying another. In the past month or so I've purchased two other kettles to replace this one. The first was another Ovente model (fluted stainless steel design which I loved the look of, especially because it didn't have any plastic "metal" trim) because I figured if this one lasted as long as it has then they must make quality products. I was wrong. It died on the second cleaning cycle so I never actually got to use it and many other reviewers seem to have similar issues. The second attempt at a replacement was an Ascot model that claimed to be 1.7l but turned out to only be 1.5l and, as a family of 5 heavy tea drinkers, we need the larger capacity. So, on to my issue with this kettle...within a couple of months the fake "metal" around the water window started to bubble. It's plastic and it sits against the hot metal exterior so it's unsurprising but still disappointing as, despite how well the kettle works, it's looked fairly poor quality almost from the get go. I finally decided I needed to replace it when it started to chip off (see pics). It now looks like utter garbage and I just can't stand it anymore. I know if I get the same model it's going to end up doing the same thing but I figure if it lasts another 3 years it's still a good deal.

I LOVE this kettle.
I LOVE this kettle. Everything about it is wonderful! First of all, it is just as gorgeous in real life, if not more so than in the photos. Secondly, the feel of it in your hands when you pour it is perfectly weighted so it doesn't cause strain on the wrist. The size is great when making the whole family a round of hot chocolate. No need to boil two times just to get enough water. Third, the switch lights up a really cute blue colour when you turn it on. Fourth, the base plate is solid and doesn't slide around. Fifth, the lid is secure enough to not fall out when you tip it to pour, but not so hard to get out that you have to struggle. Sixth, the sound of it coming to a boil is not nearly as loud as 90% of the other kettles I have had in my lifetime, and I have had A LOT of kettles. And finally, the handle has an excellent design so that it doesn't get hot and you never risk burning your hand when you pick it up. I absolutely LOVE this kettle.
