Perfect
I use this scoop mainly for scooping muffin mix into the muffin pans, not for scooping ice cream. It's perfect for making muffins, and I'm sure it would handle ice cream scooping just about as well. It is very well made, much better than the old scoop I used for several years before it broke apart. I've found that OXO products are dependable and sturdy and have never been disappointed with any I have bought.

I love oxo products BUT
The finger trigger is very thin metal. It bends easily while scooping something cold and hard like chilled cookie dough.

Works great as a cookie scoop!
I use this to scoop cookie dough. I like how the dough doesn’t stick to the scoop and I don’t have to get my hands dirty. Makes great round cookies!

Doesn't Do Well Releasing the Ice Cream
I bought this for my Dad after I broke his plastic one. I thought that a metal ice cream scoop would be more sturdy and it is. But after you fill the scoop pushing the lever on the side doesn't push out the ice cream. I find I have to dig it out with a spoon. That makes this a fail in my book.

Mash as it used to be!!!
