Good product but just to note, it isnt airtight when closed. I think you're supposed to but the open side of the product against the stretchy silicone part.

But this one falls a little short. The silicone stretchy onion cover is great but the closing "clasp" is not. There is a competitive product that has two clasps and works much better than the single clasp on this one. Because there's a lot of pressure on the clasp if you're stored onion is more than half, the sides tend to lift, allowing air to get to the onion.

Just Don’t Push the Envelope

Update Oct 26: I still love my lemon keeper. Maybe recent poor reviews is because of a recent manufacturing issue? The only problem I have is that if it isn’t kept level the juice will drip out, but who ever said “oh no! My lemon is too fresh and juicy too darn long!” ????!!! I do not ordinarily like OXO because their handles are sticky to me but since this is not a handled device that isn’t an issue. I think I will order an onion keeper ‘cause my big lemon tree is just about ready to give me big lemons and this really isn’t made for grapefruit sized anything ????. You do have to put it together “just so” and if you push the envelope, so to speak, you could break something. If you are reasonably careful, though, and there are not recent manufacturing problems, and you don’t frickin’ drop it ????, I think you will like this. Original review from March 2020 purchase: I’m sorry to all the lemons I’ve wasted over the years. This thing really works! It’s quite versatile, not just for lemons I think. Being able to slice a piece on the little plate saves me washing a cutting board. It’s quite a stretch to cover my orange-sized lemons but they do fit without busting out the super stretchy silicone. I wish I’d gotten a picture (especially cause it looks really funny) but I’m reduced to store lemons this time of year. Common lemons are so, er, common and don’t really put the stretch to the test. The stretchy silicone disk fits into a track on the frame and falls out if it’s not carefully snugged in. It’s easy enough to snug though and easy to wash by hand or in the dishwasher. Be sure it’s anchored in the dishwasher because it’s got no weight to it at all and will flop all about.

Generally good

We get some BIG red onions. Some are hard to fit in the onion container even when half used! If they're big, there isn't a great seal on the container but since the silicon lid is so tight, the cut onion area doesn't dry out. The lemon/lime container seems more appropriately sized. We have a lemon tree and use a lot of lemon so its nice to be able to use a few slices and store without the lemon drying out. Would recommend. May get another set (we usually have both red and yellow onions to store)

Called customer service from OXO because I was outside the return window for Amazon, OXO is sending a new one, but it looked like other pictures posted. Silicone broke.

Didn't control the onion smell...

I really loved the idea but it doesn't work as expected. I put a cut tomato in the one for tomatos. After a week I opened it to use the tomato. It was still good, but it was squished by the container. The soft side doesn't protect soft foods like tomatos. The onion keeper...not good. It sealed tight but the colored top absorbed the onion smell and started releasing the smell into the frig. After a couple of hours in the frig, I could smell onions when I opened the door. I took the onion keeper out and put the cut onion in a plastic bag. I tried washing the onion smell out of the keeper, but the colored side still smells like onion. I put it in the dishwasher which I'll run today. I won't be using it to keep onions in the frig...that's for sure!

Really Keeps Half-sliced Citrus pieces fresh! Love it!!

These Reusable Silicone Citrus savers are awesome! I love the style and durability! And, most importantly, they really work. I can't tell you how many half-lemon/lime pieces I have had toss in the trash because they dried out in my refrigerator; this is definitely what I needed to prevent the waste. So cute too!

Good idea but doesn't last

It seemed like a good idea and it was working ok initially, except sometimes the silicone would pop out if the lemon was too big. And then the silicone ripped after about one year. It's too bad they don't sell extra silicone covers because now I'm stuck with a useless piece of plastic.

Had to glue the silicone

A very good product idea, useful everyday to keep you fridge clean. Very disappointed about the silicone: it doesn't work if you're putting a larger vegetable (e.g. lemon, onion). I had to glue the silicone to the plastic to be able to use it. It's easy to clean. I also like the design.

Good idea but too small

I had to return the first set I ordered as the silicone was pulled away out from the sealing ring. I returned the replacement as I discovered that I was unable to store half of a red onion because the saver is too small and tight to close the sealing ring. Not very practical.

not worth it

took up too much space, if onion too big it breaks off. i threw them out. didn't bother even returning them cause i threw out the packaging.
