Definitely the authentic one

I have been wearing Persol sunglasses for quite some time now, and when I came across this product on Amazon at a significant discount, I couldn't resist buying it right away. Nonetheless, I was slightly concerned that the quality of the product might not meet my expectations. However, upon receiving it, I was relieved to discover that it was indeed an authentic Persol, just like the others I have purchased directly from their website.

Classic timeless shades

Persol makes the essential timeless shades both in quality and style. I have the occasional bad habit of sticking shades in the same pocket with coins and keys. Persols are the only lenses that can take such punishment

Nice but very wide

Persols are gorgeous glasses, no doubt about it. If you want to look stylish and sophisticated in a Euro sort of way, the easiest thing to do is go get yourself some Persol shades. They are well built and impressive looking without being overtly flashy. These are the real deal and I was super excited to receive them, but ultimately ended up returning them for two reasons: 1) They were simply too big. I have a pretty big head (it's hard for me to find a hat that fits!) and these were still too large for me. They constantly kept sliding down my nose. I think there might be a more narrow version of the 3048s which might fit better - I don't have the model number or width in front of me at the moment but if you're considering these you might want to investigate. 2) I'm a bit of a lens geek and while Persol's grey polarized lenses are nice and clear (as glass lenses generally are), they do nothing in terms of spectral enhancement. This is the idea of cutting certain colors (wavelengths of light) more than others so as to improve contrast and definition. I'm not necessarily criticizing Persol per se for their lack of spectral enhancement - indeed some people may actually prefer a straight up grey lens with no tint. Sometimes I do too. I'm just noting it here. The lack of spectral enhancement was not the reason I returned them, but I mention it here because if I had been super impressed with the way they render the edges of clouds, or make vegetation pop, or increase contrast while driving, I might have invested in the more narrow version of the 3048s. As it is, the frames are too large and the lenses are good but a bit boring, so I'm moving on to something else.

They fall off and are heavy

They look cool. The quality is high and well finished. I have a huge head, to the point where I’m hanging onto the last 1 or 2 dots that snap on the back of a trucker hat. With that being said, I got the 58mm size and they fall off my head every time I look down. I tried attaching neck straps the them, but the tips of the legs were too wide to fit over. To me they don’t feel uncomfortable when wearing them normally (not looking down). Since I’m not a robot though and looking down or bending over is pretty much constant. Especially if I’m out and about, sunny day et… long story short, double check your size. Next time I spend $100+ on glasses I’m going to research weight more. I believe if these weren’t as heavy they falling off of the head thing wouldn’t be an issue.

I like that. Quality wise these are a hand made ...

Having always stuck to Raybans these were a departure for me but I wanted a pair of Polarized glasses and did the usual interweb trawl and came across this Italian company. They are far more understated than a pair of Oakleys or Wayfarers, you would pass unnoticed unless someone knew what they were looking at. I like that. Quality wise these are a hand made product and you can tell, you can see where the bridges were belt sanded and they are just something different from any other glasses I have ever owned or worn. Very comfortable due to the Meflecto hinges in the arms (which you only get with Persol) and the optics are crystal clear. Overall they look like something that will last a lifetime if cared for.In that regard you get a very nice hard case and large cleaning cloth, even the box is high quality. Overall very happy with these, understated, excellent quality and in a very repetitive World just a little bit different.

Excellent sunglasses with a unique acetate finish

Had a pair of these for years and it was time to replace. Arrived perfect, no issues at all. They are amazing glasses. If you know the brand and particular PO3048S, then you have nothing to worry about. Authentic, flawless, all good!
