We ordered the Peugeot and it arrived promptly unfortunately it was so hard to open a bottle my wife couldn't operate it. A month later it broke. I called Amazon and [...] no effort they replaced it. The second version was much easier and is working flawlessly. It is still a pretty hard opener to use but much easier than the first one. You have to have some muscle power to operate.

Unfortunately it didn't work out for us

It appeared to be well made but it was very difficult to actually get the cork out of a bottle of wine so, sadly, we had to return it.The handle has no padding or cushion, just metal, so it hurt when raising it up to get the cork out. If the manufacturer added some sort of cushion right under the handle it would be much more comfortable to use. This is my third "rabbit" type corkscrew and this definitely didn't work as smoothly or easily as the other two.

Well nigh impossible to use

I like this type of corkscrew and have bought others in the past. Since they all eventually broke, I bought this one in hopes it would be more durable. Indeed, it is much better made. HOWEVER, you need an insane amount of force to withdraw a cork. Don't know what it is -angle it's working at? - whatever, it takes a tremendous effort to get a cork out. As the whole point is to make it easy, would have given this a 0 if possible.

Nice and strong - corkscrew seems to go into cork with less effort than other makes. Top handle could be improved - it's dished on its underside creating more pressure on your hand at the the edges of the handle as you pull up. If the handle was concave on its underside and slightly longer it may prove to work better.

This is a heavy duty all metal opener that looks at first as though it would be great but we found it very difficult to remove a cork with it. The worst part is the shape of the handle. It is very broad and the top is smooth and curved but the bottom is concave giving an edge on each side that is very uncomfortable when lifting the handle. When you combine this with the difficulty in removing the cork it make is difficult and uncomfortable to use. I have replaced it with another opener.

very difficult to extract cork from bottles requires huge amount of force probably due to poor design. metal fatigue caused a metal part to beak in my hand and cut my fingers. Amazon should cut this product from catalog. very dangerous. will not Peugeot products again.

Expensive, but built to last

This is my 3rd or 4th wine opener. The previous models that I bought for $35-$45 broke after about a year or so. Based on the reviews, I decided to spend more money on a product build with quality materials. This corkscrew is heavy duty, made of metal parts instead of plastic. It works very well and I'm quite confident will last me for years.
