Not perfect but damn good
Works well. Not perfect. Once you lower your gear from the tree you have one option...drop the reel down with your gear. The line is not long enough to also lower the reel to the ground and then drop the line. Climbing down with the reel is an option but with climbing sticks that can be a little dangerous in the dark. The reel, when you roll up the line, will "self tighten" with the screw on the side so you must unscrew the set screw and then continue to lower. However, the best part is that the line does not tangle like 550 cord. The two hooks on the line is perfect for backpack and bow or backpack and rifle. Not perfect but the best I have found so far.

This Is a great product after spending $1 more
This review IS NOT for what comes out of the package. See my modifications, but just like everyone says out of the box the reel screw backs itself out while winding and is just overal annoying. However, I spent $1 on a 1/4”x2” carriage bolt and lock nut, small clips to replace the plastic clips. Replacing the screw that originally came with it and lockiting the lock but on makes much it easier to wind. Also much easier to clip to my belt and onto my bow and pack.

Better than rope.
I like this way better than rope, and better than the "auto retract" style because those tend to break and become useless. The manual winding is what I was after and I like that about it, however, I wish the crank was placed opposite the side of the tension nut because when you're winding the webbing up it will have a tendency to tighten or loosen the tension nut unintentionally depending on the direction you are winding. Other than that it serves its purpose at a reasonable price.

Saves Time, but Can Cause Noise
Love it! Only complaint is that it can be loud if you bump it with you bow against you stand. I wish this had a soft rubber casing to dull the clinking sounds. It still saves me a ton of time and wouldn't want to be without it.

Great Product! Much better than rope or cord.
This is the only thing to use in a tree stand. The strap is much easier to pull than a thin rope. And because this isn’t left on the tree, you don’t have to wonder if it will be there when you go back. The 30’ length is great because I hunt at that height.

It’s Mediocre at Best
You may, may be able to pull up your firearm or bow by itself with this reel. As far as pack goes, no. Not by using the reel. You are also not able to lower your pack with the reel. I have had to pull my pack up with my hands pulling the nylon and then reel in the slack after it was up. Like wise I have to guide my back down by holding the nylon and slowing letting it down. This maybe, might, maybe be able to reel up your firearm or bow but you’re just as well off pulling that up it’s not like you’re pulling up a M2 or M19. I wouldn’t recommend this at all. There is no point to it.
