great for night driving
When I drive at night, I had trouble seeing the control buttons to my car stereo, climate control, cruise control, etc. Too cumbersome and too dangerous to turn on the interior car lights while driving. This hat is perfect! I put it on and press the button and now I can clearly see every button to my car without detracting me while driving at night. The higher than expected brightness surprises me. I see other use of it while camping, boating and simply walking at night and avoid tripping. 100 Batteries cost under $20 and having backup batteries in better than re-charging a built-in battery light hat during an emergency.

Bought a second one
I picked up one of these a few years ago during an extended power outage due to a hurricane. Don't expect to see long distances with it. But decent illumination for working with your hands, like refilling a generator, grabbing firewood, and checking the breakers in the basement. It doesn't feel like you're carrying around extra weight of batteries or lights. But keep extra batteries on-hand, as they only seem to last a few hours. The second one I bought for my brother. Great gift for anyone who find themselves trying to take care of stuff in the dark.

Lighted baseball cap
These are great! We use them when walking dog at night. The dog loves that the way is lighted. We have also given as gift to campers!

Does the job
The light is great, very bright. Got this to run/walk in the evenings without a light belt bc that was chunky. The hat works but it's kind of short? I wish it came down on my head on the sides a bit more, when running it feels like it could pop off

Illuminated Hat
A gift for someone who walks their pet at night. Hat does light the path, but there is no way to adjust it from the two light bulbs to one as indicated. That said it’s a great way to be safe at night.

Great for eveings walks!
I wasn't sure how good it would light up the sidewalks at night, but it does a great job. I see debris and sidewalks that are no longer level. This prevents me from tripping in the dark and doing a face planter into cactus--not a good thing. Update: I have had this hat for less than a month. It started out very bright and now it is terribly dim. I walk in the evening becaise of work. I liked the super bright light which lit up the road quite nicely. It let drivers see me when I walked at night and keep an eye out for coyotes. We are talking 45 minute walks at night for three weeks. I have another hat where I change the battery once every two years but it was not as bright as this one. I don't know if this a fluke or normal for the POWERCAP LED Hat. I am considering returning hat. If I am buying batteries every month, this hat is not a good investiment.

A cap with discrete headlamps, cool!
I've been using Powercaps in assorted colors for over 10 years since I first saw them at Lowes. When they get dirty and smelly from sweat and grime I replace them. Sure, they're washable, but I have discovered that the delicate wireing often breaks in the wash or the dryer. I recommend using a Ball- cap Buddy in the washing machine and then air drying to keep damage to a minimum. I often keep the old one in my car trunk for emergencies or give it away to someone who doesn't mind used items. I have other lamp-free caps that I can clamp a LED to if needed but the Powercaps are more convenient, less awkward, and bulky than using the clip-on lights. They also come as a more ecological USB rechargeable version to cut down on battery cost and waste. Since the CR2032 batteries are getting more expensive you might want to consider that option. I am a night owl and I have pet cats and dogs that prowl my property setting off my cameras and motion detecting lights, so I am outdoors most often at night keeping track of things. The LEDs help me see the animal's eyes glowing in the trees and bushes or wherever they hide. I disagree with the advertisemnt that a set of 4 batteries will last up to 43 hours. I get 10, maybe 12 hours max because once they go dim they are not very useful anymore except for upclose viewing. And 2 of the four LEDs will stop illuminating to help extend the life of the batteries, so there's that to contend to as well that reduces brightness. I go through batteries like crazy, at least 3 sets a month because I dislike it when the LEDs get too dim to see what is hidden in the grass or pathway that the animals have left behind from their behinds, if you catch my drift... I also forget that the lights are on so that reduces the life span of the batteries. Therefore, I cannot testify how long the batteries will last for you. BTW, thinner CR2025 button batteries will also work with the Powercaps but their longevity will be slightly reduced, if that helps. I order bulk Sony batteries from Amazon to reduce costs and I stash a set in my car glovebox for emergencies. I don't mind the logo, but a few customers have complained about it. The hat fits about everybody's head except for my brother who can't find a hat to fit his overly large cranium! So if your head is normal sized then I recommend the Powercap. The LED light feature might come in handy one day, and you'll be glad that you're wearing one or had one handy.

Big unit clipped under the peak.
I sent mine back because I thought this was the type that had the leds in the peak not clipped under it. Misleading ad and I then went direct to Panthervision to get the real thing. If you want a big thing clipped on to your hat then it is fine but if you want something more discreet then don’t buy.

False advertisement, Not dual action
This is not a dual action led lighting, as advertised in the description and as mentioned on the piece of paper attached to the brim of the hat. It on has one function and it’s to light up the 4 led lights at once. Disappointed with this hat, since I want to use it to for fly fishing at night for striped bass (it is legal where I live), use the soft floodlights for close range tasks as tying knots, changing flies etc… A friend of mine has this similar cap but probably a previous version of it, with the dual lightings soft and bright, this was the reason I ordered this hat. I will probably return the cap and get a refund.
