Love the prAna Jara Pant but coloring is off!

I already owned a pair of the prAna Jara Pant in black in a size small regular. As this is a staple in my wardrobe, I wanted to get a new pair. Ordered same color and size but had to return the small regular for a small petite as the regular was a couple of inches longer than the previous pair I bought 3 years ago and that pair I already have to wear with heels. The small petite pair I received is a weird color. Definitely not a black but more muted kind of grayish black. I really can't wear this pair with black as it clashes and also cannot wear with gray as that color match is worse. What I do love about the prAna pant is the fabric, fit and how long they last. Tempted to buy another in small petite to see if a different pair would actually be the color of black instead of gray. I guess I should have returned before I wore them but since they were shorter than the small regular I can wear this pair with flats or heels. Wonder if anyone else ordered this pant in black and received a washed out black that leans more toward gray.

Prana quality diminishing: size and color way off on these!! Are these factory seconds or fake? Color is way off, pants for both us are way too long, like 4 inches!!! On the regular size we always wear!
