Can also be rigged as a portable watering method

I drilled a hole just big enough to tightly insert the feeder line into the bottom of a 5 gallon bucket. You'll need to cut the hard plastic connector off the end of the feeder line to insert it in the hole in the bucket. As long as you elevate the filled bucket, gravity will slowly allow it to empty(over a days time) through the watering ring just as it would if it were installed in a drip line. This alternative usage of this product allows you to move the bucket to where ever it is needed. It's also nice that you know exactly how much water you are applying to a particular plant. Note that you will need to put a filter on the tubing inside the bucket to keep the drip line from clogging from any debris that may find its way into the bucket. An easy fix is to slip the small end of a cheap plastic funnel over the tubing inside the bucket and cover the funnel with the "toe" end of a nylon panty hose. I use a rock up against the funnel to keep it in place. Works great, just remember to store it indoors over the winter, and it should last for many seasons. At the beginning of a watering season, take some canned air and blow it through the feeder tube and you should be good to go for that season.

High Hopes, but No Luck

I had high hopes for these but they didn’t really water evenly all around the base like I had hoped. They also didn’t put out a lot of water. Would be much better if they had a valve for control and more even holes around the base. Not really sure what the fabric is for because it doesn’t seem to distribute the water at all

Best Irrigation Ever

The RootWise is the best sprinkler I have ever used. I work in my home garden every day, and it is so easy to use. I took it out of the box, plugged it into my existing irrigation tube, and placed it around the bush, tree, and plant. Done! No moving parts, no assembly, no little pieces. The RootWise is truly “plug and play.” It’s so easy my eight year-old could set it up. And, it works so well. My garden, vegetables, and fruit trees have never looked so good. That’s because it puts the water precisely where it belongs at the root ball of the plant. I give the RootWise 5 out of 5 stars!

Be aware that you might need to remove the tubing, cut it and then reconnect it prior to installing.

Overall, I like the product concept. I have purchased 22 Rootwise units. Out of the 22 I have purchased, I have experienced the same problem with 9 of the Rootwise units. I have found the tubing to the connector to be what seems to be a manufacturing error. (See picture) Almost half of my purchases have had the same problem. I resolved the problem myself by removing the tubing, cutting it, and then reattaching the tubing to the connector. It is time consuming. But on the other hand, if I had returned the Rootwise units for replacements, I most likely would have had the same problem. In addition to the tubing problem, 2 plastic stakes broke. I'm hoping to get two replacements but I don't know if I will.

Installation was a breeze

Easy to install and plants that we installed them on seem to be noticeably larger than ones I have with spray heads watering. Will be purchasing more of these in the future.

Easy to install and waters the root zone - my shrubs love it!

Heard about RootWise and was curious as I haven't seen a comparable drip irrigation product before. Received the product next day and installed on my camellia shrubs immediately. Setup was quick and super-easy - I just had to connect the tubing tail to my drip supply line. Although it looks great around my plants, I covered it with mulch to make in "invisible". Japanese camellia demand a lot of water in spring, so I try to keep their soil moist. The pad is perfect as it has a textile covering that keeps the moisture. Should also help to reduce water loss. I love it!

Easy to install, adored by camellia bush

This was exactly the drip irrigation product my camellia was looking for. It was super easy to install, the flat profile is easy to cover with mulch. Plus, it was simple to connect into my existing rain drip irrigation system. This is going to be such a time saver this summer as I will no longer need to hand water the camellia! I'll probably add a few more for my azalea's!

RootWise is such an simple and effective product! It arrives ready to go, all the guess work is taken out of setting up a drip system. Straight from the box, you just add it to your existing system and you are done! It’s really that easy! The water is targeted to where you want it, making it super efficient. I would highly recommend this product for anyone from landscaping professionals, to backyard gardeners!
