Surprisingly sturdy for the price

My roommate has a Shih Tzu that will randomly pee anywhere if she doesn’t feel like going outside. All my roommates and me have a cozy den with our computers, tv, mini couch, and … rugs. This dog loves to pee on anything that’s a soft fabric, no matter how well she is doing with potty training. So we finally decided to exile her from the den and this seemed the only way to make it easy on everyone else, coming in and out with the gate is easy. It’s a sad idea keeping a cute animal away, but anytime anyone feels bad and lets her in she has decided to hold all the water in her body to release in the one clean room in the house, the den. We just couldn’t take it anymore. We want to lay on our carpets and spotless floor without the smell of pee radiating from the hardwood flooring. This gate is perfect and at a very reasonable price. And don’t worry… we eventually got her an elevated bed so she can see us and be present, but she cannot be trusted on rugs. Unless held in a blanket like a burrito, she is a pee speed run master in the den. No where else in the house and the dog door to the backyard is two steps away from the den. We are all college students so we had time to train her to go in the backyard but we just can’t afford to train her to never pee in our den or clean up everyday. Anyways awesome product. Highly recommended for anyone that needs to keep a space clean from a small stubborn dog. Sturdy and easy to assemble. :)

Perfect!

This gate is strong and adjusts to any area you want to enclose to keep baby out and does not tip over! Easy to clean, just wipe down. A must to keep baby from possibly dangerous areas such as stove or simply to keep them away from water dispenser.

It works, but

Reiterating other reviews, but this is only wall mountable in EVEN numbers. We bought this for a space that would only fit 7 panels and had to do some modification to get it to work. Also, the joint locks are mostly pointless. We have it wall mounted in a U shape with all the joints locked and any amount of inward pressure causes it to move and fold. I do NOT think this should be used as a barrier to keep kids away from a hazard because it has too much give. Otherwise it seems well constructed, the swing gate lock seems sturdy, no sharp edges anywhere. Works (mostly) for what we bought it for, just needed some modification and reinforcement so it doesn't move.

Love it

Excellent! I bought it as an outdoor fence between by house and garage for my dog. I didn’t want to spend the extra money on a classic fence& gate setup for a span of 10-15 ft. It attached very easily to my siding, and the latch is simple but secure. If your dog is a fence jumper it wouldn’t work, but it’s wonderful for my dog.

Great - I wish it had detachable wall mounts

It's great for my oddly shaped stair case going down to the basement. I wish I would have seen it sooner. I purchased a KidCo ConfigureGate from Bed Bath and Beyond for the top of the stairs. My only complaint about this one is that it doesn't have detachable wall mounts for when it's not needed (like the KidCo ConfigureGate). I didn't mark it down for that in the rating though because I knew that when I bought it. I'm checking into getting some Sliding Wall Bracket Assemblys and wall plates and from KidCo. I'm hoping they'll fit. This gate was so much cheaper than the KidCo Configuregate ($200 + additional panels) and much larger. If I went with the KidCo version, I would have had to purchase additional panels just to get the same size gate. It seems to be the same quality.

Solid, straightforward, but not infinitely flexible

First off, make sure you select the right product. Amazon has incorrectly combined the plastic baby fence that does not have any kind of gate (not the product I'm reviewing) with the metal baby fence that has a double gate (the subject of this review) as two versions of the same product. They are very much not. The metal fence was easy to install (attached via screws directly into our drywall) and because of the design, it's extremely forgiving if you don't measure/mark exactly. However the fence is not actually that customizable - you get a gate and 6 sections, but basically you have to have an odd number of sections on each side of the gate. So your options are 1-gate-5 or 3-gate-3, and that's it. I was hoping, based on my space, to go 2-gate-4 but that's not possible. (Basically you get 3 sections of "top" fence and 3 sections of "bottom" fence and they have to alternate). Finally, a significant amount of paint chipped off immediately upon installation (see photo). Overall we're very happy with the gate and it has served us well, but it's definitely not a 5* product.

Works fairly well but my 18 mo old can open it

This system works pretty well for infants, but at a year and a half, my toddler can not only open the latch but she can also just bend the joints in any direction she wants. It did the job for quite a while but now we’re left having to buy two smaller gates to cover split stairways because this single one is no longer a barrier.

ONLY wall mountable in EVEN numbers of panels.

The media could not be loaded. So this wasn’t exactly what I was expecting. I thought you could wall mount this with any number of panels. But since some of panels are male, and others are female they do not connect. So I could not use this as 7 panels with the wall mount pieces(they could only be used on certain panels) I wanted two panels on each side and three on the long side, but instead I need to keep all 8 attached, and just fold one in on wall side(as pictured) or it won’t work. If I only use 6 panels I might as well just use it as a complete square with all 8 panels and not damage my walls, but it just wasn’t big enough. I wish I knew before I ordered but it’s too much a pain to return, so I will keep it and just use it like this. Also one side isn’t super sturdy no matter how much I try to tighten it. Video shows how wobbly even though everything is tightened. All other sides are tight… factory defect maybe?

Great for big spaces

My home is an open concept with a 10 foot opening into the living room. This gate was perfect for closing off this area and the double door make it look more elegant than some of the other options. Adjusting the configuration of the gate is super easy. While you can remove sections to shorten the gate, I found it wasn’t an easy adjustment. Kind of like a puzzle, you needed certain pieces to make the gate work so it takes a bit of time to figure out. We did secure it to the wall but due to the length, there’s still quite a bit of movement when the little one pulls on it. The company has great customer service. My package came damaged which resulted in one on the rods bending. I emailed the company and within a few hours I had a response. They sent me a replacement rob which came in the mail a few days later. It was super easy to replace. Overall, I would recommend this gate if you’re looking to cover a large opening or are looking to build a play pen for the kids.

LOVE THIS GATE

Absolutely love this gate. I was so stressed about baby proofing. For my sons age and current stage of movement, sectioning off a large, safe area for him to freely play in really put my mind at ease. It came completely assembled which is awesome. The panels are super easy to remove if you want to shorten it. I wish you could order additional panels to attach so it could be a bit longer. Love this gate! Many of my friends have them for their babies play areas as well and are so happy with it!

Very good product. The joints can move and be set to whatever angle you need. Zig Zag. A box. A giant U shape. Up to your needs I guess. We use it to separate our dogs who fight and can't live together. They can be separated but still feel part of the house with safe spaces for each of them. Update...... Dropped my rating as low as it could go. Fence waas connection is NOT strong. German shepherd ripped the gate off the wall to get at our other dog to kill her. Lots of blood and injuries. Not secure at all. Fence is ok. But wall connection is very weak.

So Handy!

This gate is the perfect solution for our open concept main level. It was easy to install, very sturdy & well worth the money to make a safe playroom for baby! Just be sure to always latch gate as baby can get fingers caught in the latch!
