Very nice quality, smooth ride, good fit.

I got one of these Big Apple tires to replace the stock Schwalbe Marathon on my Bullitt cargo bike front wheel - a standard 20" size wheel. I was looking for a softer ride, and I am very impressed! Running at 35 lbs/in^2 inflation, the Big Apple tire absorbs shock extremely well, gives a very smooth ride - much smoother than the Marathon tire I took off, which was not only a hard-riding tire, but also not very uniform in shape/thickness. I was worried the Big Apple might not fit well under the fenders, but it was not a problem. It remains to be seen if the Big Apple tread compound will last as long as the Marathon, but it appears to be a better made tire. The sidewalls do not look as thick or sturdy as the Marathon - probably a reason it rides more nicely. I once experimented with a high quality shock fork on the Bullitt, which did smooth out the bumps, but did not work so well with the steering. I wish I'd have gotten the Big Apple tire first - it is 1/10 the cost of the shock fork, and works just as well!

great tires or Tyres

Love Big Apple tires. Seem to roll nicely and are comfortable. I am a large man with a grandson on a cargo bike so we are looking at at least 350 pounds and these do the job nicely.

What a great tyre. It is exactly what I expected - a tough tyre which is at the same time a soft cushion for the wheel. It's proved resistant to punctures on a wide range of surfaces on a touring tandem in all conditions. It's not what you'd want for very muddy conditions but wet and dry tarmac, gravel, stoney and sandy gravel etc all disappear behind with no drama. Not the easiest tyre to mount on the rim.

Not Such a Big Deal!

I'm a loyal Schwalbe tire user for the past 12 years, Kojaks and Duranos, principally. This tire is massively overrated, for performance and for comfort...what a huge disappointment!

Perfekt für den Kinderanhänger

Ich habe den Reifen für unseren Croozer Kid for 1 Fahrradanhänger gekauft und bin sehr begeistert. Der Anhänger ist zwar ungefedert, aber diese Reifen gleichen die fehlende Federung sehr gut aus. Laut Hersteller muss der Reifen zwar auf mind. 2 Bar aufgepumpt werden, ich fahre den Reifen aber nur mit 0,8 Bar. Damit federt er am Besten ohne durchzuschlagen. Bei der Verwendung mit dem Croozer ist zu beachten, dass der Reifen deutlich dicker ist als der Originale und dadurch die Feststellbremse neu eingestellt werden muss.
