Plumbing Pro Result

This easy to install hose will make a pro out of you. Perfect match to my water softener manifold and connected easily to my drippy supply pipes. It may be a bit pricy, and if you love to mumble four letter words under your breath as you try to solder drippy pipes, this may not be for you. BUT if you want to get the job done well and the first time, the price is worth it!

Works Well For Specific Scenarios, No Tools / Skills Needed

This is the perfect part for integrating a water softener and/or iron filter into your existing 3/4" water system. It is easy to install, requiring no special tools or skills and very effective for it's purpose. The flexible lines make for great smooth flow, and there are no leaks when installed correctly. However, if you are building a new system or want something cleaner looking, I would recommend the "SharkBite UC529LFA 3/4x1 FNPT swivel adapter" also on amazon for $8 each. They require a crimp connection so they aren't for everyone, but if you are already overhauling your water piping and have or are planning on getting crimpers they are the perfect part for the job and not something you will find locally. That being said, I used these flexible hoses as an interim part of my setup and reused a set that came with my water softener and had zero issues, just wanted more flexibility and less torsional stress on the heads of my filtration equipment (these are heavy). P.S. Bonus is if you add equipment you can totally use a short piece of pipe and connect these SharkBite to SharkBite, I had this setup more over a month with no issues and see no reason it couldn't last as long as a typical SharkBite connection.

Another thing I wish I knew existed.

This, too, would have saved me tremendous amounts of time from welding PVC adapters to PEX. It is usually best to avoid plastic runs to/from UV canisters as well.

SharkBite water softener hoses

Making a somewhat tough job (sweating copper fittings) of connecting a water softener, a piece of cake. Whether you are using copper or PEX lines.......these make for a nice and quick connection.

I like these fittings...

First time using 'sharkbite' connectors. Very easy to install. They tell you the distance on the pipe these should be seated. I marked that distance on the pipe and these did not install that far...? (It was close...) Since I installed 2 and they installed the same distance each and didn't leak, I called it good.... My connections are easy to get at if there is ever an issue. Anyway, I will use Sharkbite again. (They cost more so I wouldn't want to build a house with them, but for minor repair work, they are great!)

Good product

Quality plumbing parts. Installation is easy. Just remember to polish the pipe if corroded and remove any burrs. However if you need to remove the hose afterwards you'll need a release tool. The cheap little release tools found at home improvement stores are a bear to use. I did have to remove mine after a temporary install. Squeezing the tool and pulling on the hose without destroying the pipes connected to it was a chore. I got it done though and with no leaks.

Sharkbite for Watersoftener

So very happy! I had trouble finding a way to change out my old softener for a new one without doing new plumbing. These flex pipes did the trick. I cut off the old and just stuck these on. No leaks and everything works great!

Convenience

This braided flexible stainless steel hose is very convenient. It correct for any floor unevenness and make installation very simple, practical and fast thus make the installation job very easy. Note: This hose should have been included in every water softener unit. On a 10 rating scale, I will give it a perfect 10.

I bought 2 of these and used them with a Scala 2 pump. The 1" end threads right onto the pump inlet and outlet with some Teflon tape applied. Not much more that hand tight and no leaks! the 3/4" sharkbite end is great tied right into my 3/4" pipework. Price is way better than the local hardware store!
