I love this pattern! There is a YouTube video that walked me through this project step by step. Following along carefully gave professional results as a relatively beginner at sewing. I simplified the design by taping pattern pieces together with a 5/8 inch overlap. I did my own external pocket and eliminated the hand pockets. I also went with snaps instead of buttons. Snaps are a lot easier if you don’t mind buying the tool to install them. I do recommend getting decent quality snaps and a decent quality press tool if you decide to go with snaps. Cheap snaps and a cheap tool gave me disappointing results in the past. I ended up with this really cool retro military style jacket that I get a lot of compliments on.

Excellent Final Product

I used this pattern to make my very first denim jacket. It was my first time working with denim, and the result was excellent! As with any pattern there are sections of this pattern with confusing directions, but there is a youtube video associated with this exact pattern that helps to clear up a lot of confusion. Definitely makes it worth the price.
