Barre training
I am in love with this dvd and the instructors! In order to use this dvd you need a few props: blue mini stability ball, ankle tubes, foam roller, toning balls, mat and preferably a barre. While you can certainly do the exercise without a barre and just use a chair or something else to hold on to, it is much, much better with a barre. I ordered one from Vita Vibe, which make nice 4 foot barres for a decent price.Vita Vibe Ballet Barre - B48 4ft Portable Single Bar - Freestanding Stretch/Dance Bar - Made in the USA . But you will need most of the other props, which for me wasn't much of a problem, since I already owned most of them because I use them with my other Stott Pilates dvds. If this is the first dvd you ever purchase from Stott Pilates it will mean you have a lot of extra things to buy in order to be able to use it. You can easily get away without the foam roller and instead of the toning balls you could use weights. The description said that this is a level 2 workout and that there are 20 exercise or 37 minutes. This brings me back to my main complaint about Stott: the workouts are just never long enough and there are not enough repetitions per exercise. I usually have to do two dvds in a row to feel enough of a challenge. The instructors are great a s always and I do like the section that precedes the workout where they tell you how to do proper form, since that is a huge deal with Pilates. I have also ordered the level 1 Stability Barre dvd. I am not sure if I really find this dvd much harder than the level 1 dvd, but it doesn't really matter to me because I wanted two different dvds to alternate so I don't get bored. There are also some nice stretches on this dvd.

Another fun Barre workout with great, clear teaching by the instructor. Have used some exercises in my Pilates classes. Another good Stott DVD to add to my library.

Love the Barre training as an alternative to standard Pilates. The instructor, Heather Lawson, is clear and precise. Have used some exercises in my Pilates classes.

I liked the dvd instruction, but would have preferred more barre exercises and not the need for more equipment. Stott always has great training.

Too Basic!
This is like beginner level - didn't even work up a sweat, but the time I even started to feel the exercise engaging my muscles, we had moved on to the next exercise. Not enough repetitions and the exercises are too basic. Why the instructor was not taught how to pronounce "developpe" correctly is beyond. By the point of her foot I could tell she had done ballet training, so I found it annoying that she was not pronouncing the ballet terms correctly. If you are an intermediate pilates devotee (or beyond) or have even done some basic beginner ballet - don't waste your time on this DVD

Once again, is there such a thing as a bad STOTT PILATES DVD? It is an excellent production. I took this workshop and the DVD comes in very handy to refresh my memory.

Barre/Ballet-style workout
This is an excellent Barre workout. It is challenging to your muscles but didn't make me sweat as an aerobic workout does. Heather Lawson is an excellent instructor.
