Light works decently, and has good reach. Big negative that it doesn't actually have an on/off switch. You have to keep the button pushed down with your finger to keep it on. Makes it super inconvenient.

A bright idea (lousy pun, great light)

This is an extremely handy light that I have found useful in numerous applications. It works very well as a borelight for guns, it can be bent so that it sits on a flat surface keeping light focused on a small area (excellent for model work), and hung over a pipe when working amongst ductwork. By twisting the tailcap, you can make the light stay on continuously (though this is nowhere to be found in the packaging) or use it intermittently by pressing the button on the tailcap. The light is quite bright for so small a bulb and the long gooseneck holds it shape very well. My only quibbles are with the tailcap not locking in to keep the light on since twisting the cap is difficult at times (especially with wet hands), and the use of AAAA batteries. And that's no typo- you have to use AAAA batteries which are difficult to find and expensive so if you plan to use this light often, I suggest buying a replacement set of batteries when you order the light. That does make it a little pricey but you'll be glad you did when you realize the folks at your local supercenter want to have you committed if you ask for AAAA batteries. Overall though, this is a handy (not quite so) little light to have on hand when that clunky kitchen drawer model is too awkward.

Very flexible flashlight

It arrived in good shape. I was surprised at the brightness. Very high power output. The flexible shaft is covered with a soft flexible cover. It works well. It is made of brass and painted black. If you need light in a very small tight area then this flashlight is for you. The switch is the same for all Streamlight flashlights. You screw down the tail cap and you have constant on light. If you unscrew it a little you can use the momentary rubber button on the back. My only possible negative comment is that the led creates a large area of light, similar to an area the size of a basket ball and does not have a shroud or any feature to focus the beam. A minor drawback but the only one in this otherwise fine product. If you work in confined spaces this little guy will help out a lot.

The bulb is not incredibly bright, but this is not a tool you use to light up a room. It is very useful for examining tight spaces or tiny openings, where excessive light would simply be blinding. It's well constructed, and the flexible arm is relatively stiff--it holds position well. The only complaint I have is the one mirrored by other reviewers--the twist-cap on the end, which lets you turn it on for sustained operation, is rather slippery and a little hard to turn. It makes sense it would be hard to turn--that means it fits tightly--but since it's also a slippery surface it can be a bit of a pain to operate with wet/greasy hands.

I am VW tech and this tool is by far THE MUST have in our trade. Forget those multi-LED flashlights, omni and anything in that category. Bringing source of light down to the point of interest is unbeatable. The only strange thing I found so far is their pocket clip. I assume there probably some design explanation behind it but when I hook it up to my short pocket - ... So, I don't think any hook or clamp is really necessary for the device. What would benefit this design is a small but strong magnet at the opposite side of lightning point on ball-svivel kinda thing. so if one need to bright-up some spot, he/she would clank the magnet to nearest iron/steel property and twist soutce of light ass needed. Great item, all my fellow volkswageans are buying this light.

Excellent design and functionality: very good length, excellent light control, (continuous or intermittent), just the right thickness, and great brightness, etc. Exactly what I needed for getting light in to very small and or tight spaces, allowing me to see clearly.

Great product! Does exactly what I bought it for - furnace and other inspections. It allows me to see inside small or otherwise inaccessible places. This is my third "Streamline" flashlight- the other two are for police/fire service. I've had them for years and they still work just fine.
