Best tried
We’ve had this monitor for almost 2 years now and it’s been great other than some battery issues. We’ve gotten to a point where the battery life is less than 30min. Works fine when plugged in, but don’t want to have to lug the power cord around everywhere. We purchased this camera to replace a different model and have been very pleased. My biggest hesitation in buying it was complaints that WiFi would interrupt the service. We’ve not had that issue at all despite having 3 WiFi routers throughout our house. We have 2 cameras and it bounces back and forth every 8sec. Only complaint with sound is that it’s very difficult to hear 1 of our kids over their white noise machine despite his being placed farther from the camera than the one in the other kid’s room. We’ve simply taught our son what he needs to do to get our attention if needed when we’re sleeping. No problem hearing the other kid over his monitor.

Nice when it actually works, customer service becomes a part time job when it doesn't
My mother purchased this as a gift in December 2019 when she found out I was pregnant from my Amazon account. My baby was born in May and is 3 months old (August) so he still sleeps in the bassinet next to our bed but we recently started using this for when he takes long naps in our room or if we want to put him to bed yet stay up and watch a movie. This video monitor seemed pretty neat when we first got it and it worked for a week or two, the 2 way communication, night vision, camera adjust, etc were all nice features. However, after taking it off of the charger to let it work off of the battery, it stopped working altogether. I thought it was dead so I have been charging it for a week and it still won't turn on. My husband thought maybe it wasn't connecting to the camera so he fiddled with it. I have been trying for the past 2 weeks or so and cannot get this thing to work. I emailed the company 3-4 days ago and still haven't heard a response. We actually have quite a few summer infant products I realized the other day (carseat liners, sound machine, swaddles, video monitor, etc) but now I might reconsider purchasing this brand altogether. It has been such a headache. I would rather get a cheaper one and if it breaks I wouldn't feel so bad! My mom has a very fixed income and really wanted to get a gift we can use, now we have a paperweight. Update 11/14/2020: Emailing their customer service is pointless. I called them after the above review and spoke with a representative and they sent me a completely new unit. That one worked for a bit but it turns off unexpectedly and inconsistently (not going into sleep mode) even when its fully charged when its off its charger especially when i use the red zone function. I called summer infant again so they sent a replacement battery, then it started doing it again a week or so later so I called customer service and this time the line was down so I emailed- still no response from that but I had called the next day and spoke with a representative. While she seemed nice on the phone she said they'd send another monitor by emailing me instructions of what I need to do for them to do that. She still hasn't emailed me and when I called at 330 yesterday it was past their hours so I couldn't follow up. Now I am nearing the end of my warranty and so frusterated because a product used for safety and peace of mind stresses me out because it so inconsistently works. If it worked and always worked, I would love it but I am going on round 4 and it still doesnt work. Also, the lady told me after the warranty period of the original purchase, there is nothing more they can do even though these new units have been consistently defective. I guess they just plan to keep sending me bad units and waiting out my product warranty which unfortunately was used up greatly by my pregnancy and receiving the gift early. So annoyed and disappointed!

It’s ok
I’ve been using this for almost a week now, so I’ll go over the pros and cons. First the cons. Unfortunately, I can’t use this monitor to replace my sound only monitor, which is a HUGE bummer and the reason why I knocked off stars. This monitor does have the voice activated option. When the monitor picks up baby crying the video will automatically pop on. Great right? Well not great if you want to actually sleep at night and not wake up every time your baby makes a squeak. If that’s what you want then this is perfect for you. You can’t adjust the sensitivity, like you can the basic ole vtech baby monitor. I also wish the brightness went down a lil more. When you wake to look at the monitor, it’s SO bright. I hate that you can’t shut off the power save mode when it’s not plugged in. You’re constantly hitting the video button if you wanna watch your babe sleep or be able to catch them right when they wake up. The white noise and lullabies are ok, but it comes from the camera so that’s ALL you hear no matter what volume you set the noise at. I don’t use it bc I have a hatch rest+, which I LOVE. I’m not sure if the white noise stays on until you shut it off, but You pretty much have to if you wanna hear your baby. Last con the room temperature thermometer isn’t accurate which is another huge disappointment. I now have to buy something else just to keep an eye on my sons room temp. His room is the coldest room in the house, so I like to keep an eye on it at night. I’ve tried resetting the camera by unplugging it and such, but no luck. It reads 10° higher than it actually is in there. Now the pros. Love the picture. It’s so clear and I can see my baby w good detail both day and night. The screen is the perfect size. I also love that you can zoom 6x and you can move the camera in all directions. I lay him on the floor to play on his play mat while I do other things. I can keep an eye on him while he plays. I’ve used the perimeter alarm once and it’s ok. It lets me know if baby has rolled out of his set area, but if his toe even breaks the line it’s alarming at me. I feel like that’s a bit too sensitive. I super weird about wanting clocks on everything so it’s awesome to me that this monitor has one. Not sure why any monitor wouldn’t. The battery life is really good for a video monitor. I’m always pushing the video button and it’ll still last all day unplugged. So yeah, it’s an ok monitor. I don’t think it’s worth the price considering all the stuff I hate about it, but that’s my personal preference someone else might love all my cons. I’m keeping it simply bc I love being able to move the cam around and the great quality picture. I can’t say how the range is, as my house is pretty small so everything reaches in here. Ha! UPDATE: Almost a year later and almost everything works just as well except....I can’t leave it unplugged for more than 1 min and then it goes completely DEAD. SIGH. Totally bummed about it too. Gonna trying to search and see if there’s a way I can replace the rechargeable battery. Took 2 stars away for this.

Stopped working
Really great monitor and great picture quality. Battery life seems fine but we always have it plugged in over night. Easily mounted to the wall. I like that the display goes on and off quickly with the touch of the top button. VOC mode when plugged in does not turn off automatically. I do find that the lowest volume is still too loud, would like it to be quieter. Will be purchasing a second camera for baby #2 UPDATE: the battery has worn out...needs to be plugged in constantly. Annoying!! UPDATE 2: stopped working, won’t sync to either camera. Garbage.

Overall great monitor
I love this monitor. I had 3 Vtech monitors before this one and I decided to try another brand once the third one broke again. It has simpler features and that’s likely why it works better. I find the picture quality to be fantastic. That’s comparing it to 3 Vtech monitors that pictures were awful. I can see everything clearly at night. Voz mode does become manual when the monitor is plugged in. The screen will din but if it detects noise and turns on you will have to turn it off manually, whereas if it’s not plugged in it would turn off on its own. This doesn’t bother me because the only time I have it charging is at night and it’s right beside me. I have it off the charger all day and it lasts. I really like that you can still hear noise in the baby’s room when the screen is dim. That’s new to me I use the white noise feature a lot and it’s wonderful. I don’t find it too loud because the camera is not beside the babies head. I had it ha gong on the wall so it needs to be loud enough for baby to hear it. Overall I’m really happy with this monitor. I’m so glad I decided to switch brands. This is way better than my last 3 Vtechs. If you are super picky I do t think you will find a monitor you like.

Nice product but not right for us
Spent a long time looking for a 2 camera system to support a baby and toddler. This has high reviews and the picture quality lived up to expectations. Ultimately we returned the product though because of the auto-shutoff function of the screen. Our toddler wakes up silently and having the screen turn off every 2m unless it’s plugged in was a deal breaker. Wanted to keep this product ashes would buy again if they got rid of that ‘feature’.

Sound and video quality amazing!
The media could not be loaded. Sound and picture quality is absolutely amazing and video is not choppy at all in day or night mode. Range and battery life are much better than the Vtech monitor we had before too. One camera we got doesn't go into night mode, but after a very quick call to Summer Infant we are getting a replacement in 7-10 days without any hassle!

Best non wifi with practical features...but..
Tried Arlo baby (not reliable, but good picture), Heimvision (Grainy, slow camera pan), and old summer infant converge (poor image but reliable and sound good). Here are the pros: -picture quality is decent for non wifi -love the sound bar and vox feature -reliable -picks up sound well -zoom and pan/tilt is useful. Cons: -lowest sound level is still loud -lowest brightness setting is bright -no ability to record movements - camera cannot be mounted upside down -screen automatically shuts off if not plugged in, no option to change -moonlight feature... useless. -boundary box only has two sizes We bought this mostly as reliability for Arlo isn’t great, so to have a backup for sound is good. It’s a great basic camera. Does the job with some fancy features that are not necessary (songs, white noise, moonlight). Battery life is okay from what I see so far but we mostly keep it plugged in to watch baby anyways. Wish it had option to record. Overall, I would still recommend based on the functionality of it and reliability. Especially if you buy via Amazon warehouse for 1/2 price, it’s worth it. UPDATE: Battery holds a good charge but it gets really warm if left plugged in! (We plug it in to see baby so screen doesn’t auto shut off). I took battery out and plugged adaptor in and the monitor still works so that’s good.
