WORKS WELL WITH MOST HOME LAMINATORS; BE CAREFUL WITH HIGHER HEAT

These carriers worked perfectly with the popular Scotch brand machine, but it couldn't stand the heat of anything stronger. I tested it at 300°F on a ProLam Plus -- don't do that lol. It DID laminate the inner document perfectly but it bubbled in one spot like what happened to another reviewer. I'll probably retest it at a lower heat but I have a feeling it can only safely withstand up to 150-200°F at most.

I have to first say that I haven't tried using them yet. When I tried taking one out of the package, I found it attached to another one. I am not used to carriers being sewn on their folded edge. I've always used ones that were just folded. So I find this kind of odd. It was the string used to sew along the folded edge (actually about an inch and a half away from the fold) that was attaching the 2 carriers together. On 1 of them, the sewing is undone for about an inch. So without having tried one yet, I find myself already disappointed. I wonder if I should have just folded over my own card stock to use. The look and feel of it seems like the poster board I buy at the dollar store. This is especially disappointing now because upon coming here to write this review I see that they are $3 cheaper than when I ordered them a few days ago. Best thing.... I got them quick.

Not for Old Laminators - Can't take the heat

I have an old Seal brand laminator that is at least 20 years old and still works great, but of course, the carrier pouches need to be replaced from time to time. In 2015 I ordered TruLam Heavy Duty pouches from Amazon and those worked fine, but lately have started showing wear so I decided to order replacements. I ordered these Swingline carriers assuming a carrier is a carrier. Apparently not. The very first one I ran through started bubbling up as it came out of the laminator as if the outside skin was melting. Picture attached. I read another review posted here and the person said they too had an old laminator and a similar thing happened. Since for the most part, this product has received ok to good reviews I can only assume the older laminators operate at a higher temperature and these are not heavy duty enough to take the heat.

I was not totally happy with this purchase

I was not totally happy with this purchase. The quality doesn't seem to be up to par with the carrier that came with our GBC laminating machine a few years ago. Our current letter size carrier has the fold on the 11" side and all of these fold along the shorter end of the paper, making the laminating process longer. Also, none of them are letter size, even though they are described as such. I don't think I would purchase them again unless there was nothing else available.

Was given a laminator and was finally ready to laminate something only to find out O needed one of these! I ordered them and they worked perfectly for my needs. I laminated some letter size sheets for my buddy’s business.
