Nice Watch!

I've only had this watch a little over 24 hours and I am pleased so far. I bought the negative (dark display) because I do not believe this watch is worth what they are charging for the normal display. The negative display can be harder to read, but I knew this buying the watch unlike a previous experience so I expected that but this watch is okay in that area, pleasantly surprised. I got in in very good used condition (which is basically new) for less than 50$ delivered, at this price point it is a good watch. This is the fourth Timex I have owned in 52 years. I owned one as a child and when the Ironman watch came out in the early nineties/late eighties I rushed out to get one and paid what was a lot of money for me at that time. Both of those watches had arms/analog/dial (the Ironman was digital as well on the bottom). Both were CRAP, takes a licking and keeps on ticking - BIG LIE. I found a very basic Casio watch around that time, unclaimed at work for weeks and weeks, I started using it and have been an avid fan ever since owning too many to count. I have another Timex that is digital, I must have got it on sale and it works and has for years even though I don't wear it, so I gave this one a shot. My major gripe with this watch is that it has an acrylic face/crystal, it will probably get scratched at some point and for 75-100$ that is unacceptable. They need to put some mineral glass (like the other "Shock" watches this one hints at with SHOCK written on the metal around the face) on this watch if it's going to be at a higher price point. I will not be wearing it to work for fear of scratching the acrylic crystal. The metal around the face is not noticeably raised so it offers little protection. That's the negatives. This watch looks GREAT! It's wide but about the same thickness as the original casio dw 5600 (G Shock) but it dwarfs it in width without standing a mile in the air off of your wrist. The watch band fits comfortably is ergonomic and is well thought out and wide the loop holder even locks into the band via the holes in the strap. It's wide but not too big for my small to medium sized wrist, very comfortable. I have sent "another G" watch back because I could not read the negative display easily, BUT the display is so BIG on this watch it is not a problem. I was taking a chance there. The light in the middle of the right side of the watch where the crown is traditionally is great. The indiglo itself is great. The control adjustments are great, you can go in both directions when adjusting the time, forward or backwards. overall this watch is a great effort by Timex. I just firmly believe this watch has been done a great injustice in reaching its full potential, the crystal needs to be mineral glass, none of my other watches with that material have a scuff or scratch on the crystal. Every watch I have with an acrylic crystal, regardless of brand, has a scuff or scratch and NONE of them costs as much as I paid for this watch, discounted (negative display) and then discounted further by buying it used: very good/like new. This is a great watch with a major material flaw in my opinion, TIMEX needs to fix this if they want to compete with Casio, and this watch is a contender for real! Acrylic face is a major disappointment, I can't say it enough. If the watch wasn't so nice it wouldn't be worth 50$ with this flaw. If this watch had a mineral glass crystal I would recommend paying the 80$ that was being asked for the normal display, I think it's 100$ today. I cannot recommend this watch at that price knowing the face will PROBABLY be scuffed or scratched easily at some point with regular use. TIMEX step it up! Put a suitable crystal on this great watch!

It is not easy to read the numbers...I need to move my wrist to get the right angle, in order to do it... :-(

Good all round watch with useful vibrate alarm

First off I have a watch fetish, from Rolex to cheap Chinese watches, saw this watch ages back but totally overpriced, now at 39 quid I thought it's worth a go. First attractive function was size of display, I normally wear glasses but at a push could read this without. The features are pretty much standard with stop watch and timer etc with alarms, but then for me the best bit, you can set alarm to beep, flash light of screen, and vibrate in any or all combinations. The vibrate is genuinely useful for me to take pulls at right time and unless you're sound asleep you really feel it buzz. I've seen critics say the plastic screen is a bit of a let down, and yes I'd prefer crystal glass, but then that adds to the price, and people claim they've scratched the screen, but as long as it's not a big gouge then a plastic polish like autoglym should remove most scratches. So why only 4 stars? Well I would have liked a standard strap fitting, and it's not easy to see how you'd replace the strap if needed. So apart from that, a good large watch with easy read numbers day or night with a great vibration alarm, to me that's worth 39 quid. Strangely different colour watch bands seem to raise the price, black or similar was about 50 quid last time I looked, so I bought white as I'm not bothered by colour especially if it saves money.

First...ordered this last night. Wearing it tonight so once again Amazon is amazing. The watch is cool and quite simply different than everything round and boring. It's a great size and very comfortable. I got the reverse screen which I think might actually be harder to see but again it's different and cool looking. So far...very happy
