Great for some peace of mind

I bought this specially for a window I have - the window has a deep window ledge which my dog loves to sit on so when it was nice out, I made sure to only open the window a crack (it's over a four-story drop, the thing of nightmares). I looked into specially made window safety guards but between their price and the installation effort, I decided against it. This baby gate worked perfectly since I could brace it against the wood frame of the window so even if he did push against it, the weight would be on the window frame. Now I can fully open the window and not stress.

Pretty Good way better than I expected for the price

sturdy and affordable , using for my dog who always breaks through whatever I put on the door way so he wont get threw and so far this seems to be working.

Good gate when it comes not broken

I bought two of these gates to place in my patio door so that my walking baby doesn’t push the screen out and fall through the door, and one for my front door also. One came in perfect shape and one came broken. The one that was in good shape was easy to install, works like a normal tension gate and seems to hold up really well to my baby clinging to it and pulling on it. The second gate came split on the bottom. I can still use it but I can see how it will affect the integrity, as it wasn’t as easy to adjust against the door with the split in the wood. I had to maneuver it and hold the split together while I adjusted the tension so that tightening it wouldn’t make the split bigger. I kept the gate though because I just didn’t want to go through the hassle of reboxing and returning it. So based on my experience you have a 50% chance of getting a gate that is in good condition

Best maker/style of this gate.

We've gone through many types of baby gates. We trust this gate at the top of our stairs to keep our baby safe, even when she pulls up and pushes on it. This evening, my two-year-old realized he could climb over it. Great. The good part is that the gate did not budge (I watched him on our security video) when he climbed over it twice. Our previous tension gates by other makers, came apart into two pieces and eventually, we were unable to put them back together. This style has a safety lock, which we were annoyed by at first, but the ease of use was soon realized. The safety lock keeps the gate positioning from moving accidentally or the gate from sliding into two impossible-to-reassemble halves. With our other gates, we had to mark with sharpie the notch that the gate had to be at, in case it lost its notch positioning. No more! The wood is nice - no splinters. The plastic is as aesthetic it can be. The holes are an ideal size to keep baby toys or her little hands from going through. Our baby has never scratched or cut herself on the smooth plastic lattice. I do not see the potential for that happening either. Light-weight. Highly recommended.

Quick and easy to adjust but not sturdy against dogs.

Let me start by saying that I bought this because it was one of the cheaper gates with a good rating through Amazon Prime. Since it was less than $20 including shipping, I wasn't expecting top-of-the-line quality, and I tried to keep that in mind while writing this review. This will work well with animals and children as long as they don't push or lean on it and try to force their way through it. It's not terribly sturdy and my 30 pound beagle has pushed it over a couple times. I can also see that it isn't the finest craftsmanship - some parts are already starting to warp and stretch. I'll be surprised if this holds up much longer than a year for me, but that's because of my dogs. When this one finally gives up, I will be buying a more durable one that can take the pressure from my dogs pushing on it.

Its A Child Restraint Gait That I Am Using on My Puppy A Westhighland White Terrier

Lets start by saying I liked the price and was in need of two gates. It's to isolate the interior portion of our townhouse. Our puppy hasn't arrived as yet just want to be prepared. Modern look doesn't mean better quality

It's a slightly more modern design to the standard drop gate, but feels just as flimsy out of the box as you'd expect from a cheaper option. Once it's set up, it works well enough to keep the baby where I want her, but my 50 lb dog can jump it easily. Decent option for an occasional or mobile baby gate.
