Works well. Just be very careful of your wrist when drilling.
These work just fine through an un-grouted cinder block wall. It does a nice clean job. But be aware that it's easy to break a wrist with one of these things if you're not careful. To start, I sincerely encourage you to use a ROUND core bit adapter (aka 'arbor'), like the Toolocity AD1112. The round shank will permit the drill's chuck to slip if you bind-up. Otherwise, it's your wrist that'll break. If you use a beveled bit-adapter, like the ToolCity 0038, that chuck will NEVER slip (actually, there's so much force applied that the damn arbor will bend like a pretzel) Next, consider buying a concrete arbor with a pilot drill. That's money well spent cause you'll be far less likely to bind-up. If you don't use a arbor with a pilot, you'll have to make a jig out of plywood to hold the core (otherwise it just skips around and you can't start the hole). If you're gonna drill, say, a 3.5" hole into cinder-block, first cut a round hole in a 10"x10" square of plywood using a sawzall bit. Then drill masonry-screw holes in each corner and attach it to the wall. That'll keep the core bit from moving around. When you drill, drill as slowly as your patience permits so if it binds it'll be manageable. Whatever you do... always position your wrist so you can let go WHEN it binds (and believe me, it will bind!).

start drilling at an angle and slowly roll up until vertical to surface you are drilling
I used this to drill hole in the house footings to place a fence post close to the house. It worked well in concrete, but more teeth would make it not bounce as much. I used the water hose to keep it cool and keep the dust down. I used bits like this for 20 years in the granite countertop industry.

Works good.
Would be better of it had a guide drill. You will need the recommended accessories for it to attach to your drill. I used it for edging pavers.

Didn't have to hire a plumber. It cut thru 1 1/2 inch of tile and concrete like butter. Perfect circular opening to accept my Kohler valve. I did make a jig out of 3/8 plywood to keep it from skipping all over the tile shower wall. Used the bit itself to cut a hole in the plywood. It looks like new and I'll keep it to use again or loan to folks

worked great. use water to keep it cool
cut 4 3 1/2 holes in granite with no problem at all, worked great. use water to keep it cool, but be ready when it starts to throw granite mud around. also bought a 1 1/2 as well and it worked just as good. Great Tool.

Great tool!
Did a fine job of boring through cinder blocks, although lack of a centering bit makes it tricky starting on desired centerlines.
