Large, durable suitcase

Drop bottom duffel are hard to find these days and I miss the older versions of the TravelPro suitcases in this style. The pockets are small and older models were better, but this suitcase has served our family well on two European trips. It's easy to pack with travel cubes and packs flat when empty

Just what we needed!

I did a ton of research on luggage and I finally ordered this bag. I was uncertain bc of the mixed reviews but knew this was a reliable luggage brand. This bag is perfect. Works great as a duffel roller, sturdy and I love the packing cubes. I was surprised at how much I could fit i to the bag. I am already planning to buy another one!

Great for a cruise

The packing cubes help keep it balanced. It is extra large so you can pack as much as needed for a cruise and be able to carry off the ship yourself streamlining disembarkment.

Great road trip bags

Only used once so far for a road trip, but they worked great. Put shoes and beach towels in the bottom compartment, and clothes in packing cubes in the top. Tons of room.

They should have known better

A real disappointment! There is no bottom strap to allow you to pick up this long suitcase. This makes it very hard to lift in and out of a car trunk. There are two two straps on top which are unwieldy and flop around to catch on things when rolling the case. The fabric is soft and it scuffed up on first use. The zippers are small tooth and very hard to open and close because the pulls are small and hard to grip. Because of his it is very hard to zip and unzip when fully loaded. There is no reinforcement on the bottom to protect the case from scuffing when standing up. It does roll fine even with a short handle. The fabric cubes are OK, but a bit small to hold things like folded shirts. All in all I have no idea who designed this unfortunate suitcase!

This is not for use on extended travel

The media could not be loaded. I went on a 15 day African safari. The bag was in and out of vehicles during that period of time. The first rip occurred before we even got on safari at the international airport. This bag may be good for a college student, but it’s not meant for extended travel. I wish something had been mentioned in the description and I would not have bought it. I would’ve done an upgrade. This is not a heavy duty duffel bag.

Terrible design, awkward to lug around

UPDATE: After 4 long-haul and 4 short flights, this suitcase is being given away the second I get home. The lack of straps holding everything in place makes it feel like I’m lugging a dead body around. It’s heavy, awkward, and entirely not worth the money. I’d rate this zero stars if I could. Original review: I’ve used Travelpro suitcases for years and generally love them. This duffle, however, has some issues. First, it scrapes very easily. I‘ve taken it on five flights (2 long, 3 short) and it’s already very scraped up along the bottom. I suspect it’s not going to last long. Second, the weight isn’t ideal. It’s fairly heavy (which I knew before I bought it) so once you start adding clothes and gear, it adds up very quickly. For a duffle this size, that’s an issue. Third, and most importantly, there are no interior or exterior straps for the main packing area. Even if you use the included packing cubes, your stuff shifts the moment you stand the duffle up. It makes the duffle awkward to roll because it’s lumpy and uneven. This is a big design flaw, especially since the bottom compartment does have straps. Overall, I wouldn’t buy this duffle again. The price was great but I wish I’d paid more and gotten one with a better design.

Nice but not what we expected

This bag was ok. We bought two travelpro duffel bags before, which were much better. We felt this version. Was a little flimsy by comparison.
