Works as advertised
This is a step up from most cable and pad lock security systems with a reasonably thick shackle integrated. Nice not to have to deal with a separate cable and lock. I know the cable can be cut with the right tools without too much difficulty but for medium security this is a convenient system to deter (not stop) a thief. If you want maximum security you are going to have to step up to high quality security chains and lock systems and spend around $100 and deal with a much heavier chain. The only minor complaint is the plastic/rubber sleeves around the shackle can make it a little tricky to lock, but the plastic cap comes off easily which may or may not be really necessary depending on what you are using it for.

Thick Cable & Latch, but Locking Issues
Good thick cable and lock. When it functions correctly it works good, however I am a bit cautious to continue using this lock. I used to over the past weekend for the first time and the insert for the key is very picky. There are 3 different turnable gates that your key will move to lock/unlock. Twice during transit, and once while just trying to lock one or more of these gates moved independently. When this happens the key does not go in all the way and thus you cannot lock or unlock. I have spent over 30 minutes carefully looking in the key slot and using the key to align each to allow the lock to function. This has turned me off a bit from this lock as I am concerned that I won't be able to get undone.

Seems like a sturdy, heavy cable but annoying to use
I purchased this lock 2 years ago. It has a very thick, heavy cable, and fortunately, my road bike has not been messed with at all with it in place. However, though use, the red sleeve where the key locks begins to slide up, covering the hole where the U-bolt piece slides in. The red cap at the end of the lock fell of a long time ago. I don't know why these pieces are not epoxied or more strongly attached to the end of the lock. This creates a very annoying problem and requires a lot of force (and patience) to jam the U-bolt in. I might have to end up cutting some of the red rubber.

Worked on my RZR...
I was looking for a way to secure my RZR and ultimately decided this would work best. I researched the shifter lock, looks great except you can cut the shifter Cable with wire cutters so that was defeated, the wheel chalk lock looked neat but also was defeated easily. So with locking lug nuts and this cable I'm confident it would pose and issue to a would be thief looking for a quick score.

Good value for your money - measure first though.
U bolt way to big for the disk holes on my bike (Honda Shadow), but still a sturdy, we'll built lock at a great price I plan to keep.

Didn't last a few months use
Lock froze up and put me in a real bind. Had to have it cut off, key was stuck. Do yourself a favor and don't buy any cable lock, they don't stop thieves and you are helping create waste with a product like this that fails and is useless. Im going with a narrow chain instead of a cable to secure my bikes in the rack.

I like the plastic coating over the cable. Comes with a Velcro strap to hold the cable together to storage.
