Worked well for wide feet

I struggle to find shoes that are truly wide enough for my feet. I have fallen arches in my feet and need support without being constrictive. I was a little skeptical buying these because unlike other brands, they didn't offer a wide option. These are also a little more expensive than the cushionaire brand I often buy from on Amazon, but figured I'd go for it. From the minute I opened the box, I realized they were higher quality than the ones I usually buy, as the leather straps look more authentic and less plasticky. I also didn't have any "break in" period with the shoes. I got them on Saturday, and have worn them grocery shopping and to church with no pain or areas of rubbing.

Try before you buy

While the sandal was great in appearance, it runs long in front and short in back. I returned it.

Unique style, quick breakdown

I have ordered these twice because I enjoy the style and fit. The down side is those orders were within 1-2 years due to quick breakdown of the cork like material. An affordable sandal, not made for years of daily wear. Good for casual wear.

Nice shoes

Love the shoes but the right one is floppy leather and the left is more structured. Its not a big deal but it kinda feels weird. The side that is floppy seems stretchier than the other one.

Fit review. Runs a half to full size large.

Having read reviews that mention these shoes runs large or stretch to become too large, I ordered small. Back when shoe size was dramatically more consistent, I wore a 7.5 US women's in boots and athletic shoes and up to a full size smaller in dress shoes or sandals. Now, shoe sizing is an absolute crap shoot. I've ordered 7's in sandals that flop right off my feet while barely being able to get my foot into another style or manufacturer of 7. Relying on reviews used to be helpful when there was better consistency and quality control in shoe sizing, but now you'll find as many reviews saying a shoe runs large as runs small... So, for what it's worth: I ordered a half to full size small in these shoes. I do not have a terribly wide foot and my arch is on the high side of average. These shoes actually fit well in length and width, and a fully functional buckle allows for quite a bit of adjustment. The style allows for a lot of lateral room and a person with a very wide forefoot may find a bit of spillover. The shoes /will stretch/, so do consider that when you first try them on. The foot beds do have some arch support, but if you are looking for orthotic-level level support, these are not the shoes for you. I can feel the support point, and it could be a bit further towards the heel than it is. The footbeds and soles are not 'cusion-y', but they are about 1/2" thick and do provide a small amount of shock absorption. I've not noted any tight spots, hot spots, or rubbing, and the soles provide good traction on a dry (and dusty) wood floor. A side note: The shoes I received had been tried on but not worn, and were covered in white cat hair, beware.

Love! But definitely size down

I had a pair of these a few years ago and my friends dog chewed them - devastated! Splurged pair of real Birks and they lasted for one season before becoming so uncomfortable and unbearable. Will definitely be buying these instead of Birks from now on - more durable, more style options, considerably cheaper, and just as comfy. I would suggest sizing down - typically I wear an 8.5 or 9 so ordered the 9 and they were way too big. Returned them for an 8 and they're perfect.
