Minimize The Amount Of Plastic You Place In The Landfill By Using These Food Safe Bags

Ziploc Endurables Large And Medium Pouches are a reusable option of Ziploc storage bags made of food grade silicone. The medium bag appears to be comparable to a quart size bag with four built in feet which allowed it to stand on its own. This detail made filling it incredibly easy and effortless. I wish this feature was included on the large pouch (which appears to be the size of a gallon sized bag) but sadly it was not. I hope the manufacturer will consider updating this in future efforts. The common theme with both pouches is that it is made with a thick silicone material, has a thicker sealing area with a built in raised tab making it easy to open, and each pouch has a solid seal. I have been using the bags to hold open snack bags in an effort to keep them fresh longer. They work just as well as their disposable counterparts while being earth friendly. The bags are easy to open and seal and I like that they are just as easy to wash and reuse. The manufacturer noted that this product is heat safe by venting 1" in the microwave, baking up to 425 degrees F on an oven-safe sheet, or to use when sous vide cooking. It can also be placed in the freezer. I have not heated the bags nor used them in the freezer yet, but I plan to use the larger bag to hold frozen homemade cookie dough. It is also noted that this product is dishwasher safe but I hand washed the bags and let them air dry on a mini rack. The bags are Made in Thailand. I think this is a wonderful and easy way to minimize the plastic that you put into a landfill.

Thick silicone, easy to clean and seal

These ziploc silicone bags could not have come at a better time! We've been eating strictly at home, and lately I've been looking for a great way to store leftover fried rice and pasta dishes. These silicone bags do a bang up job of freezing the meals for later, and re-heating the food in our oven (my favorite way) is a breeze! I do wish the larger bag had a base like the medium bag does, it makes it easy to scoop leftovers inside and adds to the volume the bag can hold. Because of this I see us using the medium bag far more often, which is too bad since the large one's extra capacity can store other annoying items like corn on the cob and go straight to steaming right in the bag! These were easy to clean, I washed them by hand which was fine, and then threw them in the dishwasher to see how they'd come out. A little spotty, but that doesn't bother me. I love the reusable alternative to the bags we know and love, especially since the same company's freezer bag varieties have gotten flimsy and horrible with the changes they've made. These will hopefully last us a decade and reduce the waste we produce.

Practical, durable, saves me time in the kitchen

I'm always looking for ways to cut down time spent in the kitchen. Meal prep can be daunting and very time consuming. When I have the extra time, I love prepping ingredients and meals ahead of time so these Ziploc Endurables are perfect for that! You get two reusable Ziploc Endurables silicone bags in different sizes - medium and large. The medium holds up to 4 cups and the large holds up to 8 cups. For a family of 5, these are a little too small to prep family sized "one pot" meals. They are great for portion control or for preparing a smaller part of a larger meal. I absolutely love that these can go from prep, to fridge or freezer, to microwave or oven, to dishwasher. That is SUPER convenient and definitely a time saver for me! Plus, it cuts down on containers! I don't need separate containers for prep, storage, and cooking. The bags feel super soft and flexible but still incredibly sturdy. The seal is super strong and tight. I filled the pouches with water, sealed them, and was turning them upside down, shaking them like crazy, etc. No leaks! I prefer the design of the medium pouch because it has a wider bottom that allows it to easily sit upright on a counter. The larger bag will still get used more often in our household due to our family size but both are awesome! I rinse them out after using them and pop them right into the dishwasher. They clean well and still look like new!

Good, not great

I really love reusable silicone bags for certain things. I have some I use for dry snacks and some I use for sous vide. I tend to avoid silicone for storing leftovers because it does have the tendency to hold onto smells and such. I haven’t tried these to sous vide even though it’s listed as a potential use because they don’t seem to be quite as durable as some of the other bags I have so I’m really only using them to store dry goods and they’ve done great at that so far. They are a bit cheaper than some of the other options, so perhaps expecting the same quality is my fault and not that of the product. I’d still prefer to catch other items on a sale. If you’re just planning to use these to store things like chips, snacks, etc, I do think they’re well worth it for that use! If you already use silicone to store leftovers, I think these would work just as well for that purpose too.

So cool!

These two Ziploc rubber bags are pretty cool. It’s really neat to be able to use Ziploc products that are made of rubber because you can use them over and over again. It is kind of a pain to wash them because of the way they bend being rubber it’s best to lay them on your drain system to have them dry out or you can put them in the dishwasher. The nice thing about the Ziploc rubber bags is they can be used over and over again. You can put anything in there. You can throw it in the microwave and the it does have the Ziploc type closure up at the top just like the plastic bags I think it would be a really cool thing to take to work with you so that you can just throw your whole lunch into the microwave in the little Ziploc container. Soup would even work well because it doesn’t leak at all. Overall, I do recommend this product because I do like it.

Great bags and supposedly oven safe

These silicone bags are fantastic! However, I do wish they had a larger base or were sturdier in construction. I would prefer them to maintain their shape more effectively. Nevertheless, they feel like high-quality bags and seal up tightly. Although they are advertised as oven-safe, I haven't personally tested them in that regard, as I'm a bit hesitant. But who knows, maybe I'll gather the courage to give it a try!
