Felled tree processing
Will work as described and up to the log size specified not much more than that.

Adding 3 washers would make this 5 stars
Great affordable product. My only complaint is its wobbly nature once assembled. This problem could be solved by the manufacturer by adding 3 washers for use as shims to close the internal gap of the bolted parts during assembly.

Don't know why I didn't buy one of these years ago. It's so easy to turn and elevate logs for cutting. Just a note on ease of use...I tap the thumb with a mallet to set so it doesn't slip.

Good
For the price it's great. Haven't put a whole lot of use into it yet but so far it's held up.

Sturdy timber tool safely & easily rotates logs up off the ground, for safer easier sectioning.
BOTTOM LINE: It's a timberjack and it's okay. This particular tool, from EarthWorth, is also the most economical model I've found for hoisting branches & small trunks off the ground for sectioning so you're not constantly burying your chainsaw bar into the dirt. Takes some practice to master, but well worth it for the $$$ saved in reducing saw chain replacement and/or sharpening. I was skeptical at first, but after using it for a few weekends I couldn't imagine NOT having it in my woodcutting arsenal now. It'll pay for itself, especially if you have a lot of timber to cut. ;-D THOUGHTS: I had to have a few cottonwood/poplar trees dropped this year... but rather than have all of that potential valuable firewood hauled away, I had the tree trimmers leave everything where it lay so I could do the clean up myself. Ugh! I took on waaay more than I bargained for (LOL). But it'll be worth it once all that wood is seasoned & split for the fireplace (and camping). This timberjack is stout yet easy to assemble. And whoever complained about bending this thing up was either telling a Paul Bunyan-size fib or was doing something way foolish, like trying to manhandle petrified redwood trunks with it. This thing is heavy and thick. After using it for a while now it's hard to believe anyone could damage it... unless they were doing something that they shouldn't have been.

The base isn’t stable
great concept but the piece where the foot/base is screwed together is very loose / wobbly so the wood isn’t very stable when trying to cut. The foot/base could also be a little wider.
