A Fun Challenge
(This is an updated review.) I read the instructions and watched videos, and I was convinced that I would easily have this thing returning to me reliably after I threw it. I immediately had trouble getting it to come anywhere near me at the end of its travel. One thing the instructions didn't emphasize was how critical the wind is. Too much wind will carry it over your head (and probably will be lodged in a tall tree), no wind at all will cause it to fall short. Most likely you will always have at least a small breeze, and it is important to throw it into a headwind to make it work. Determining the wind direction can be tricky. What I have settled on is taking my best guess and throwing it. Observe the direction it travels in as it is in the last part of its flight--at this time it is roughly flying in line with the wind direction. Within one or two more throws you will have it coming right back to you. It is a fun challenge to get it to come back to you, but also to gauge how it behaves at the last part of its travel so that you can catch it. All of this is probably too much for a small child to enjoy--but it is great fun for teenagers and older.

Way way harder than you think
I watched the inventor in a video demonstrating how these work. He made it seem easy, it's not. I threw my arm out like playing baseball without warming up. You have to chuck these hard and perfect, and even then because you needed to throw it harder and more perfect than you're capable of, it doesn't come back, and now your arm is sore. It's kinda fun trying but don't think for a second you're going to whip this around. My brother in-law who plays baseball was the closest, and even he couldn't make it all the way around. Also, give yourself plenty of room, I'm talking 300 feet all the way around you

Under the right circumstances, it would be great; but...
The Aerobie is a hip new combination frisbee-boomerang that delivers with respect to neither of the aformentioned. BUT! Hey! That's okay! I bought an Aerobie & it can do all sorts of unique stuff! Yes, that's right! If it's not gliding from one person to another, nor at an angled pitch rounding its way back to the thrower, then that's not an Aerobie! But if you see something flying around that someone just threw, & has vaulted itself seemingly right off the ground to ridiculous heights, becomes stalled out, & is ready to come back down taking an unpredictable dive back toward the thrower (say... up to 90° off to their left or to their the right) & comes flying back down off angle a bit & nails some other person in the head — then you might have just witnessed yourself an Aerobie! In all seriousness though, this thing relies on internal bendable piece of metal that's then fully formed using a fairly dense synthetic rubber — so, it's got some weight to it. And when I said it's unpredictable, that's not an understatement (btw; no one actually got nailed in the head; but I could see it happening). This is actually the second Aerobie I've purchased; the first launched itself into a tree & it was gone after a few people got a chance to give it a throw. And like the 1st, this too fell right onto a tree branch nearly out of reach shortly after pulling out of the packaging...(?) I guess I would conclude, if you have access to an area with zero trees & zero houses, & all eyes are on it whenever it's in flight...then you got a pretty exciting (few) hour(s) watching this thing fly around. Again; the weight makes it so you can snap it out of the hand faster than most frisbees...&, while it doesn't earn the noteriety of the lawn dart from years passed...I imagine this would be unpleasant in its own right getting hit by it after it jackknifes down from 100+ feet in the air. So, I suppose I would generally not recommend the Aerobie.

WORKS! Great if you have no friends!
You have to throw it at a 45 degree angle upwards, you can flick it and it will go left or throw normally and it will go right (if your right handed). I took a chance on it since the reviews were bad, but they just didnt know what they were doing. I would suggest being in a large open field because learning how to use it takes some room. I've thrown it, and ran routes and caught it, or you can just throw it in place and have it come straight back, its awesome when you figure it out.

Great Fun, Easy to Learn, Perfect for a park
Completely new to boomerangs, so is the rest of the family but we all had such a fun time figuring out how to throw it and it only took a few minutes. You do need a large clear space but other than that it's super fun to throw and catch. Few extra things, it can take full drops from the crazy heights it can manage, kinda scary to learn to catch but it's not the worst and If the package directions don't do it for you, try different throwing styles and find one you like.

If you don't have access to 2 empty soccer fields back to back and a bunch of friends, forget it.
I saw a video of the inventor using this and it did indeed come back to him like a boomerang. If an old guy can do it, how hard can it be? The problem is that the size of the field needed for this boomerang to actually return to you. We're talking huge - no bigger than that! Yes, you need something bigger than a baseball diamond for this to possibly work. So if you live in a big City where you're not going to have that much extra space w/o no one around to get hurt, then perhaps give it a try. I don't have that much empty space available to me and haven't been able to make it work. I can see it wanting to work in a smaller space, but it's just not doable. Perhaps a couple soccer fields and a bunch of friends to help you pick it up when it doesn't return to you might be a good place. If you don't have access to that, forget it. I love the brand so I didn't hesitate much to pick this up as I know already that the circular one is awesome. It's lasted generations. I used to play with the circular one as a kid and my son recently discovered it and loved it. Figured this boomerang one would be even cooler and add some new fun to an already good line of products. No so. Perhaps

Se ve de buen material
Se me. Complicó mucho entender como usarlo... Lo intente un par de veces, ya decisti... Vuela mucho y agarra mucha potencia al regreso, no lo supe controlar, si practicas mucho quizás lo logres, suerte!

Bought for my 9 year old grandst
It’s a very good boomerang! We had to buy a second one as it travels far and my husband managed to lose the first one.
